Posts I've Made
22 March 2008 - 07:38 PMWell, the design I am working on is for a single barreled marker and as of the other day it feeds at above 40 bps for short bursts. The pack will be made from a vac molded plastic and be inside a nylon backpack. go to youtube and search paintball backpack. the white haired guy is Dave hall and the inventor of the air powered version of this beast and you can see a demo on it there. I am working with this guy on developing this thing and have a working relationship with him on this project.
Some other improvments have been made and more are being made all the time. We want it right before we get it out to you guys.
22 March 2008 - 07:05 PMWhen is the e-grip version coming out? I got to hold one at the store today and it was awesome! I am going to buy one when I get the money saved up for it.
22 March 2008 - 06:59 PMI have been playing PB for 25 years now and seen alot of things. I do believe that there should be ROF limits where newbs or fairly inexperianced players play. but there again, I think it should be up to the group playing and what position they are in. Friggin hammers and guys with double troubles shoot the hell out of people and provide cover.
Those of us who play milsim or at least some of us believe that burst and full auto are fine and what ever BPS you can get is fine. I believe it to be the responsibility of the shooter to not hose someone after they are out. I plan on playing as a hammer at D-Day this year and will have a hopper capable of feeding and shooting 33 BPS and I want to be able to use it. Especially at the beach landing to provide cover for my guys that will be landing there.
The SMG-60 was a fearsome weapon in its day but the ammo limit on it made it an easy target if you knew how to play it right. My set up will not be so easy to defeat.
For speedball; I think 15 is about as fast as you need to be, for safety sake due to distance. But in the woods, if you are shooting at someone over 75' away then have at it; but only till they are hit.
22 March 2008 - 06:39 PMFirst things first, what Gallon per minute is the pressure washer valve? if it is less than 10 gallons per minute then you will not get the pressure transfer you need. in other words the pressure instead of poping out it will more likely hiss out.
Barrel length has an awful lot to do with the amount of acceleration on the projectile. to short, then the pressure is wasted and you don't get the distance; too long, then your gas expands all the way before the projectile leaves the barrel and you lose distance from the drag created by the loss of acceleration and drag of the projectile.
rule of thumb: better to be just a bit short than a bit long.
18 March 2008 - 08:20 PMThe air pack would most certainly feed this monster you are making but you had better be andre the giant if you think your gonna carry that beast on your back.
geezer hasn't added any friends yet.
