  1. 2010-2011 Scenario/Big Game planning & discussion thread

    30 January 2010 - 08:33 AM

I figured I would set up a new thread for discussions on any and all scenario/big games that folks are planning on traveling to. Especially since the Glouster thread was over 80 pages now and the Urban Guard thread should be reserved specifically for games they are putting on. I thought the Glouster thread could be kept primarily for local games coming up.

So, the next big game I know of coming up is at Battefront on Feb 20, 2010 - The Star Wars Hoth Scenario. I know there is interest in this game and I hope to go up too - depends on how my wife is recovering after her surgery.

Other notable games on the horizon...

Global Conquest in late June 2010

Sherwood Forest - pump only castle seige game in late August 2010
  2. Games put on by the Urban Guard/Team Fireproof

    16 March 2009 - 06:06 AM

I decided to start a new thread to chronicle the great times to be had playing games hosted by the Urban Guard and/or Team Fireproof, centered around the Newark, OH area.

Many of the same group that gather at these games also attend the Glouster, OH games put on by Thumper63. Yesterday's games in Newark were a good time as always. I am pretty tired today but I feel it was well worth the approximately 5 hours of drive/ride time to and from the game. The turnout yesterday was superb and I don't think anyone went away that didn't have a great time. If only someone could make that hill going down to the field keep from getting steeper as the day goes on!

Shadowjackal, Frodo, Thumper63, shalehillslayer, scoobshagg, asphyxiateheart, Godsdog, Jinx, and about twenty others were in attendance. We played some flag games, elimination games, a zombie game (I hate you undead scum!) and some attack and defend games in the thick underbrush near Dayton Rd.

Thanks especially goes out to Tim, Rich, and Jack for keeping the games going and putting the effort into making it a safe and enjoyable day! Oh, and Luke - thanks for hauling me around, my friend.
  3. Games in Coolville, OH - battles in Forest's forest

    23 November 2008 - 08:46 AM

I had the pleasure of playing yesterday in Coolville, OH with several of the Brigade members...FRODO17, SCOOBSHAGG, THE SHALE HILL SLAYER, INVICTUS07, and some other non-Brigade players (or if some are on the Brigade, their Brigade names are unknown to me). First off, let me say it was COLD - really COLD! However, straight-up play, the company of friends, good sportsmanship and some great play certainly warmed my heart. The only downside to the day was our equipment failures. I wasn't the only one that saw problems with sub-freezing temperatures and paint not shooting right.

Thanks goes out to Forest, Brian and Tim for putting on some great games. Whoever else was involved in getting the game together - thanks goes out to you as well! The stockings hidden throughout the field were a great idea. I had my eye on one early in the games but couldn't quite make it there to get it!

I am looking forward to more games out at Forest's forest. Next time if it is cold - I am bringing hot chocolate for all!

  4. New AGD owner...welcome to the brotherhood Shadowjackal

    02 November 2008 - 07:37 AM

I have been talking with/emailing Shadowjackal over the past couple of days about his big news...he just bought a used Automag. Welcome to the Automag brotherhood!

In addition to his acquisition, two of his teammates/friends are also getting used Automags.

    Long live the Automag.

  5. Games in Glouster, OHIO

    14 September 2008 - 07:37 AM

Anyone living near or who knows where Glouster, OH is -- you should make a trip out to play next time! Keep an eye on the game locater and watch for the email notification.

Thanks goes out to Thumper 63 for putting on some great woodsball games at "The Farm". It is great to play with a top-notch group of players. Among them...Shadowjackal, shalehillslayer, Thumper 63, Izz, CB8, Alphabravo, and others.

Here is a group shot from the last game.
