Topics I've Started
07 May 2010 - 09:06 PMI just got a gas-through stock for my A5 and when I hook up my remote to it and charge it I can only get a few shots before the gun acts like it's out of air. It's as if the tank can't keep up with supplying the gun with air.
The stock actually screws right into the ASA of the gun, where the tank would normally go. I removed the stock and tried to physically blow air with my mouth through the remote line and out the stock. I have to try pretty hard just to get a trickle of air. Is this normal, or should air flow pretty freely through?
The stock has some small holes under a collar that are supposed to supply air to the ASA. These might be too small I'm thinking ( maybe the stock isn't designed for the gas needs of an A5 running a cyclone) and if I drilled them out to a larger size perhaps I'd get more air to the gun.
06 May 2010 - 07:52 PMHere's a copy of a letter I sent to www.rockstartactical.com. . . Maybe I can get some answers on here as well.
I recently ordered the Tapaco Socom Stock
from you and it arrived today. I am going to use it for my A-5 for now and screw it directly into the ASA at the bottom of the grip and run my remote line to it and use the gas through feature.
I'm running into a problem I hope you can help me with.
Before, to run my remote, I simply had an ASA Remote Adapter with Male QD fitting similar to this one: http://www.rockstartactical.com/product_p/...sa-adpt-fit.htm
Screwed right into my ASA at the bottom of the grip.
Now the new Socom stock is screwed in there. I figured I could just unscrew the male fitting from the ASA Remote Adapter and screw it into the Socom stock to attach my remote line. The problem I have, is the Male fitting seems to be too large for the threads in the stock. I can get it in about a half turn and then it becomes very difficult to turn even with a wrench. I can get a couple maybe three turns. I'm scared I might be ruining the threads, although there doesn't seem to be any damage yet.
I'm having two issues when hooking up the remote line and charging it:
1- If I screw it in pretty tight then air starts forcing it's way out of the remote line itself, where the knob threads into the tank adapter, as if it has nowhere else to go.
2- If I go a little looser than it leaks out of the male fitting at the stock, and very little air makes it to the gun.
One main question I have is: Are all threads for these gas-through stocks and remote lines pretty standard as far as thread size and length of fittings? Is there a special fitting I need to get to work correctly with this stock?
Any help or advice you can offer is greatly appreciated
18 February 2010 - 07:53 PMI've got a few friends who play airsoft, but they'd like to come along the next time we play paintball. They'd like to just bring their airsoft guns and play with those. Anyone ever mixed the two like that? Everyone I play with is pretty honest and good sports, so I don't think the honor system is going to be a problem. We're playing outlaw, so there shouldn't be any field issues. I can't see where we would have any problems doing this, but I thought maybe some of you had given it a try, or might be able to think of some possible reasons why this is or isn't a good idea. Thanks.

26 August 2009 - 04:31 PMJust passing this along. Opsgear in Salt Lake, right across the street from Specops, got robbed the other night. Opsgear has launched a web site dedicated to catching the punks. You can go there to see the robbery caught on tape. Catch The Scumbags
I looked and couldn't see where anybody else had posted this. Admins feel free to remove if this has been done already, I apologize in advance.
