I don't do this very often( post on forums) but i felt I should put in my Two cent's, for what it's worth.
I am a field owner, I agree with most of what Mike had to say, the speed of the guns is a huge problem, not only because of the number of hit's players now recieve, but also because of the play time to cost ratio. You use to be able to play all day and shoot less then a case of paint, now you can burn a case in no time at all, now you might think as a field owner I would like that, that the more paint you shoot the more money I make, the problem with that is, players only have so much they are willing to spend, so they get less play time for money invested.
At my field, unlike some I have been to, I don't let the inmates run the asylum, I will not allow players to shoot up the newbes, no matter how much they beg me, or try the old line "thats how I got better".

Is paintball dying? I don't think so, like all things in our present economic state, it's down, but my numbers are up this year compared to last, not back to whear they were, but better.

In closeing, just a little note to you players that have been in the game awhile, support your local field(if it is safe, well run place).Offer to help him out,I am always willing to work with players on cost if they are willing to help me, the problem is most of the time it's a one way street, players want you to "sponsor" them just because, and the first time you don't give them what they think they deserve, or make them follow the rules like every one else, they get pissed and trash talk you and your field to everyone they know, and hit the fourms to blast you to people they don't.

Play Safe, Follow the rules, new players are watching......

Alright things are looking good for this weekend, weather should be nice for this time of year, so come on out and play some paintball. field will be open on Fri. and primitive camping will be as usual up front. WE will be running things a little different, the games will be staged out of the center area in the shade! IT would help me if teams that are comeing would give me a shout out with a head count so I can start to get the sides balanced, Sat. we will divide up into three teams and do the 2 ON 1 attack and defend if you have never done one of these your in for a treat, it's like playing six final battles. then on Sun. we will divide into two teams for the mini game, it will be played on the north end of the field, with the game running east to west in the rivine. Hope to see there!

we no longer use the back hill fort as a main base, we now run the games north and south as opposed to east and west.We have worked to make the field as player friendly as possible while keeping it balanced, so if you havent been there in the last year or so you may be surprised. You can use the back area to camp if you want to, but you will have to come around to the main area to insert and get air. while this game is shaping up to be a good one, the numbers will not be close to the Pauleys Rangers game, unless alot of players show up that have not pre-reged, this game will be around 200. I am glad to see that some teams and players that we havent heard from in awhile are planning to attend, if you have any questions feel free to call 352 338-8408.
