I'm still waiting for the anti sniper crowd to explain why it bothers them so much? There seems to be this popular notion that as soon as someone identifies as "sniper" everyone who considers themself a "real paintballer" has to jump on board to bash them.

As for the A.C.E.S., every single one of them have proven themselves to be mature upstanding paintball players. None of them boast about their exploits and not a single one demonstrates the child like voracity of these so called experts. Judge the snipers as you will but making wild accusations about the mindset of a group of players which you've never personally played with doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Interesting post, Arch Angel. I definitely enjoyed reading this, it gave me new ideas for playing with my first strike marker. However, why shouldn't I ever hide under a tree? Also, I have tried playing with VOX coms, and I found them to be more of a nuisance for this reason: Any time you start breathing hard due to a quick sprint or adrenaline or anything, the com picks that up and that is all your partner can hear. Granted, we weren't playing shooter/spotter, but as a shooter, I would like to be able to run without my spotter having to listen to my heavy breathing the whole time. We found that press to talk headsets worked better for this reason. Other than that, well written though it could have used some editing. I look forward to your next post.

Part of the reason you don't want to hide under a tree is that shrubbery doesn't grow direction under trees, typically. Also I personally like my VOX coms but I would never use them without some foam over the actual microphone. It cuts down on wind and heavy breathing. It takes a bit of fooling to get it right, but once it's there it's a valuable asset.

well, depending on what you define as a sniper...fact is that a paintball sniper is just a sneaky ninja paintball player lol

I guess that kinda sums up how I define it.
