I agree with slowerpig81 also I think the whole making your own field thing is pretty awesome I would love to see it when it it finished.

We are going tomorrow and trying to start building things...I think we may start with some sort of pallet bunkers first as it's mostly open field and my nephew doesn't want us bringing in a lot of stuff that we can't get rid of it, ie. burn, easily.

I will try to take some pictures of the progress...

Thanks again to everyone for all the helpful info :(

    not mine originally
look over in the field/scenario discussions, there's a thread about making your own field
    here's the link
that's probably more in-depth than you're wanting to do, but it may give you some ideas
    scroll down to "bunker building"

Thanks, that is a great thread with a lot of information.

if you have any trees fairly close together, you can go get some scrap carpet from a carpet store (always ask first) and staple it between two trees

Thanks this is a great idea. We do not have many trees but we do have a couple of old telephone poles and railroad ties laying around we could use these as trees...great idea!!!

For just putzing around, 3 acres should be plenty! I don't have any diagrams, but I would think that just setting them up vertically at random would work fine to get started! Sounds fun! I'd love to have some dirt of my own to putz around on.

Thanks, I would say come on over but North Florida is a little far to drive from Kansas...

'Cockers more accurate than Tippmanns? Who cares?? ;) You'll never notice at this stage of the game. Right now (I'll bet) you're more concerned with keeping your butt behind cover! :) I know I was when I first started!

You are correct...I have a couple of lumps on my head...I just read about turtle caps. I think I will buy one soon :D

Heh, I got hit in the visor about 4 times last I played, it's the best place to get hit IMO. The only thing that's bad is it get's paint in your hair, but it doesn't hurt, doesn't taste bad, doesn't make your lens or your gun dirty. If you get hit on the back of your head, you were either facing an odd direction of the opponent got some major flankage on you :)

no not in the back, it was kind of front left...right over my mask...twice...the second one had my ear ringing...it still hurts to think about it :D
