  3. In Topic: Looking at a mini

As someone who has just recently moved from a woodsballer to a playing both let me tell you how I went about it. First off I looked into what i call " Hybrid" gear. Gear that can be used in woodsball and speedball. For example I got a Dangerous Power G3 SE, which is very light so its great for both and has a good ROF which is also good for both. And instead of a flashy color I went with Brown/Black, which goes well in almost any environment. As far as hopper, most electric hoppers seem very cumbersome and in the way. I went with a Dye Rotor because it has a very nice short body(compared to most force-fed hoppers), and still gives me the speed I need in speedball. As far as a pod pack, just a simple 4 pod will work nicely. Walmart carries a Viewloader 4 pod pack that I love and its cheap which is nice. Tank really depends on what marker you get. If you do get a mini, you will want a smaller size tank to get good balance when you are holding it. But like I said get gear that will work in both speedball and woodsball.

  5. In Topic: Three week Woodsball game

If I were you I would try to go through a local field to do something like this. It could be a great hit if planned right. But three weeks? Way too long. I would suggest a weekend at the most. Its funny I have been thinking about something like this. I wanted to add the aspect of actually being a soldier( sleeping in a foxhole, out in the elements, food and water problems, logistics and that kind of thing). But like everyone is saying it would be very hard to coordinate that stuff even for a small amount of time. But here is my plan maybe it will help you.

We would use every part of the local field. ( You will have to get the whole field reserved for a weekend, pricey but not impossible.) It has a fort on one side and a great trench and foxhole area on the other. We would start the game friday afternoon. It would work kind of like D Day as we will be split into units( still havent decided what battle I want to recreate yet), and when your hit you go to a deadzone and wait until reinsertion. The difference will be that when the sun goes down the game does not end. In fact it will last until Sunday night. There will be normal objectives to hold and take, but their will also be missions for food, and ammo(paint) supplies. Also there will be no rules about attacking an enemy encampment, it will be encouraged.( The problem here is you cant take your mask off all weekend, which sucks) This will add the element of being a real soldier, a battle can occur whenever wherever. Again this will be hard to do and of course have hiccups but i think it is very possible and be a great time.
