05 May 2011 - 02:12 AMI just hate it when refs make people pick teams before games, because it always goes something like this:
Noobs pick friends, so that they can be together.
Agglets pick other agglets, because they realize that the more electros they can pack onto their team, the more they're going to wipe the floor with the noobs.
I stand back, unpicked. The agglets don't want me because I'm rocking a pump, and the noobs don't trust in my skill because I'm wearing a t-shirt and shorts. I either end up with the agg kiddies, desperately trying to get shots on the noobs off before my compatriots put down their lanes of paint, or I end up on the noob team--and desperately fight a losing battle with scared, hiding teammates against ten agglets with Egos
Would you pick me? I'd pick me so hard.

25 August 2010 - 05:57 PMWow! Very cool. I love to see DIY projects on paintball guns, it harkens back to the glory days of the sport.
I wonder if a Phantom breech could be modified to accept Tiberius mags in the VSC area. It would require heavy modification to the guiding rod, an entirely new pump system and breech would have to be constructed.
Thanks! It would be cool to have a foregrip-like receiver for the mags, but as you said you'd have to deal with the whole pump system being in the way. The trigger frame as well sits right underneath the bolt; given the size of the magazines, you'd have to redesign that as well, unfortunately.
I think ideally if we wanted something like that, we'd need it to be a custom carter buzzard, as you don't have the pump guiding rod in the way, and the feed port sits a little further forward from the grip. But I don't think I could bring myself to butcher up a buzzard breech, lol. That's like taking a hacksaw and welding torch to affix a new spoiler to a corvette...
I know what you mean. I think that's a project we'd have to leave to the professionals, just because of the ethical dilemma of chopping into something so beautiful.
25 August 2010 - 05:55 PMHmm no not yet but I don't plan on buying until next year probably - but I'm looking for something that will smooth out with use (ie. "get better" in a way).
I saw stuff I assume was fake ivory but from what I've seen darker stuff would go better...I also saw some leather ones patterned/coloured to look like alligator on that site you posted haha not my thing though.
In my opinion the Ebony grips look the best. They may not stand out as much, but that's why I like them. They're understated, like the Phantom itself. I'm considering a pair for mine.
If I was you, I wouldn't buy buy grips that are light-colored. I don't think they really go with the green/black color scheme. Just my opinion though.
