22 October 2008 - 01:34 PMI thought there was something familiar sounding about it... Simuniation? I bet they could make it cheaper though.
21 October 2008 - 06:42 PMI know about twenty or more people who play paintball, but they only play once or twice a year because finding people who play is difficult, and organizing a game on a day that's good for everyone is very hard. I usuaully start talking about three weeks in advance. And, more importantly, the closest paintball store is about two hours drive away. Maybe we could get our principal to allow us some after hours time and a classroom... maybe with some thought and planning, it might happen.
BTW, do you have an idea for that survey thing?
21 October 2008 - 06:32 PMI didn't consider myself a newb when I was on the way to my first scenario, but when I got there I remember very clearly saying, "Damn. We are going to get f***ed up." This was after seeing a guy with a tippman A-5 with a flatline barrel and remote coil snapping down his vest. I have never been afraid to get hit though, I'm often the one volunteering to test out new things (I.e. shields made of styrofoam, lightsabering balls away, etc.)
Anyways, during the second half of our game, we were pinned down in our dead box, and no one was even trying to do anything to gain our bunker back. Even the guys with beards, ACU, Flatlined automatic A-5's and BT's. They have it logged at Battlefrontpaintball.com , Kelly's heros rerun. The only newbish action I can remember was staring at this guy who had BT-4 assault with a rip-clip, an electronic frame, an offset picantinny rail w/ sight, remote and combat vest.
Last, I love newbs. They can be either be cannon fodder (I.e. first time Sabres) or they can be really useful.
21 October 2008 - 06:06 PMLike an actual bullet though, the only thing being shot at someone would be paint. The jacket woud be ejected, and (Hypathetically) the paint would flatten out during flight. Yes it would (hypathetically) shoot farther and more accurately, it wouldn't neccessarily hit harder. The aerodynamics make its flight smoother and straighter, and it would probably hit a little harder, but it wouldn't retain it's shape. It would be like someone going 285 feet per second past you and 'throwing' a drop of water at you.
As to the adaptability thing, maybe someone like tippman or tiberius can make a vertical clip that holds in maybe thirty or fourty shots. I'll think about it some more, but keep thoughts coming.
