24 February 2009 - 07:21 PMThe worst thats even happened to me during a game is when I vaulted through a window one to many times. I'd been doing it all day to get into little houses on the field when the doors were in lines of fire. After a good sprint, I jumped in, and caught my bare knees on the sill. It ripped off good chunks of skin.
The worst injury I have seen was when I was playing a Big Game with my good friend Gas Mask a year ago. We were flanking around a heavily fortified area when we came upon a LARGE patrol. 15-20 people, and one of them had a rather large weapon resting on his shoulder. (Think RPG-7) Needless to say, we made for a ridge. We made it to the top, and since I'm lighter and carry less gear, I got there fist, and threw myself down the hill. Well, Gas Mask gets there next, tries the same thing, and mangages to break his ankle. It WAS an amazing jump though.
Well, the patrol came around the hill, and both of us started shooting at them, since at this time, neither of us understood the severity of his injury. Well, we got a few of them before we had to surrender, and my friend managed to walk all the way back to the staging area (1-2 km) on his own, using his BT-4 as a crutch. He was going to go back out and play, but field staff saw him and wanted to look at it.
They figured it was broken, and wouldn't let him play. Our only ride was coming later in the day, and he sat there for the rest of the 10+ hour game, giving his buddies info on what the other team was up to. In my books, it was the most godly thing I'd ever seen anyone do.
Afterwards, even in a cast, he was talking about going out to indoor with a crutch and a pistol.
22 February 2009 - 06:03 PMOk, pumps are not all that more accurate. Naturally, there are some pumps that are more accurate than some semi's and auto's. Often, you get the feeling of being more accurate because you must pause and line up your shots, to make them count. I have made shots I probably would not have with a friends brass p68, and recently purchased a tippmann SL-68 II that has shown some promising results in target practice. My opinion is that pumps are more accurate, by design and by feel. Playing pump is something you have to get used to, and you'll either like it, or you won't.
Semi's and Auto's: Mags, T9's, and Tippmanns A-5's, X-7's, etc. are solid guns. Not to mention, tippmann has truckloads of add-ons for their guns that they would love to sell you. For a reasonable price, of course.
Also, HPA is much, much more consistent, especially if you intend on playing outdoors where the temperature might change throughout the day. (For instance, when using CO2 one cold morning, I chrono'd at 280ish. By noon it was decently hot, and I was up in the 390-410 range.) I would seriously look into investing in an HPA tank, but do your research first.
Finally, pistols. I'll say this alot but Tiberius's Tac-8 is unrivaled in the accuracy department. The internals are very similar to Mags, which are also pretty accurate. The Tac-8 is pricey, but they are virtually indestructable, and very reliable. However, If you're looking to buy a pistol, I would wait for Tippmann to release it's pistol. This way, you can check out the tippy pistol and make your choice then. If you choose the T-8, people will definetly be selling off their T-8's to buy the Tippmann. (You might get a good deal.)
If you're looking for more of a challenge, go for an old PGP. (Pump pistol)
22 February 2009 - 05:40 PMThis is really nice! I've owned a T-8 for awhile now, and those rails make the gun look alot more solid, if that's possible. This would look great with a sight on it. If I saw someone on the other team using this as a primary, I would be avoiding them as much as possible.
