Topics I've Started

  1. decent red dote

    10 September 2008 - 08:36 PM

OK so i finally got to test out my red dot and it worked beautifully, put balls on people from angles and through holes i never thought possible before until i realized the sad truth
i took a ball to the lens and it stopped working for some time, but started working again the next round and it promptly took another ball..the exact same place as the first breaking it apart, i also realized the importance of an intensity changer as the sun started to go down i couldn't see ANYTHING the light blinded the view of the target
so i was just wondering with all of my fellow dot users what they've taken a liking to and what's worked for them
ideally i'm looking for a dot that

    -can have the brightness changed
-is a green dot (easier on the eyes personally)
    -durable as hell

for future reference is there like a military site or even a paintball site that reviews and compares various scopes and sight systems?

price isn't MUCH of an option but i'm not going to pay over $100, yet lol
  2. home made sniper veil

    25 July 2008 - 12:39 AM

i've been in the process of building my own ghillie suit since i'm creative...and i can't make up my mind on which way to go
i'll post pictures of it when i'm done but if you've ever seen the "sniper veils" offered by various sites such as opsgear and the like
that exact veil using the flecktarn but not from the site
using three of these i hope to cover my back down to my calves and out to my forearms hopefully, i used one and cut it in half already to form the hood and the gun ghillie, the netting is large enough to slide just through so thats a wonderful plus and it's very light and breathable which also nice for my area, i plan to use one horizontally across my shoulders down my arms and one down my back to hopefully make me disappear when i lay down, i was probably going to tie it around my waist and limbs
does anyone think i'm wasting my time or is it a worthy endeavor?
  3. first attempt at a mask

    16 July 2008 - 05:37 PM

wanted to do it with Krylon after what i've seen but there wasn't any at the particular store so i purchased the rust-oleum stuff just dark green, light olive, and khaki using dark green as the base, i didn't know exactly what to do so i gave it a light sanding with 220 and rinsed it off before painting it and just went with the first way it seemed right to go i used dark green as the base with a secondary of khaki and what i thought was using light olive as the mixer
the view from the left side and the top gives the mask the most justice, the other views don't show the khaki and the dark green enough

  4. sniper cocker

    16 July 2008 - 01:40 PM

i have been reading through the topics on barrels and see a divided view on barrels, generally speaking people either swear by Stiffi or by Palmer, i've been rocking a stock trilogy tactical for 3 years and have loved every moment of it, it's somewhat quiet, and has decent accuracy and have really been looking at getting a new barrel but can't quite decide between the two, i was just curious if anyone would mind helping me decide, and also is that gun quiet overall? it seems so to me but i could be mistaken compared to others
