The best things i can tell you about being a good commander is this.

    1. No battle plan survives contact with the enemy. be ready to adapt and overcome, what you want the enemy to do will not always be what he does.

    2. You can't push a rope, lead from the front and don't order anybody to do anything your not willing to do yourself. Be adept at every role.

    3. Never stop learning, you will never be the best commander in the world, you will never know every trick and strategy for as long as you play paintball, somebody is always coming up with something new and you should learn from them.

    4. Sometimes you have to survive, being a commander means you cannot put yourself first into every firefight, be there with your guys but let the daggers punch holes, let the snipers take flanks, your kill numbers will be low, but your the brain, let your guys be the arms.

Its a lot easier to hit a stationary target than one that is running. I played this past weekend at a scenario game and the 3 times I was hit was when I was not moving. I was never hit while I was running

When they run, they run away from the fire fight. They don't run to flank or to stay mobile its to get away from the other team. They don't engage the enemies they high tail it to where they are not being shot at.

I know they respect me, they want me to be the leader. I think the problem is they don't want to get hit, and they know if they stick with my plan someone is going to get hit. They are new to paintball so they are still scared of getting hit, and to them its better to run than stay in the firefight. I know its not my plans because when they are followed we win.

I'm starting a new team and everyone has played a least a little. We have fun but I don't know how to keep them under control. What I mean by that is when under fire some will try to fall back instead of holding their position and a couple others will rush in like they are going to bunker the shooter. This has become a major problem because we loose orginization and round half them team is lost in the first couple minutes of a fire fight. We've gotten good at fighting retreats but I would like some advice on how to calm them during a fire fight.

I've tried talking to them but it has not work, any suggestions.

Actually I hear that it costs less.

thats probily because there are like thousands of people there. do you have any clue how big the field is?

The field is bout 710 acres, I think, not positive. Quick question, i'm having problems with keeping my team in formation, when we are under attack everyone splits up and i'm stuck with 2-3 people left and we have to do a fighting retreat. I talk to them bout it but when the going gets rough most of em scatter for cover far away.
