22 October 2009 - 10:35 AMWhy dont you plan an event to teach people/get them into playing paintball...you could do it at a local church, rec center, quad at your school...show off the equitment talk about it maybe make a little presentation and you could try to arrange something with the field to get discounted entry and get people out there to play with your group.
I suppose that could work. Having it on campus would be kinda tricky, just because I doubt U.M. police would really like to have markers going off on the quad (because you HAVE to shoot them!!). I think the SPPL event is representative of the topics and speakers we've had in class over the semester; sponsors, marketing, advertising, venue management, logistics, setup/teardown, etc. The SPPL event was my original proposal, so I'd like to keep that running because I think it will encompass all of the requirements. But I can always talk to my professor and see what he thinks. It may simplify the project a lot. Thanks TK.
--I forgot to mention...in regard to field discounts and whatnot, we don't have a commercial field anywhere near here that I've heard of, so that's not much of an option, otherwise I think the sport would be much bigger around Mizzou.
14 March 2009 - 02:23 PMI'm with JackRock on this one. I don't set out on a sunday with the mindset of this is the position I'm going to play. For me, it just depends who shows up, who's on my team, game type and where we're playing. To the question at hand though; I'm usually more defensive minded when playing. For one, I'm a bigger, slower guy, so I don't mind covering our tails and watching the flanks while the rabbits go running. I have my good days though where I'm the one hauling tail and with the front runners. I figure it can't hurt to challenge yourself and your game each day you go. Anyway, there you go, another Sabre's opinion.
17 November 2008 - 11:38 AMWe use the Frostbite when it's below 40 AND when the shops carry them. 40-80 degrees I think your usual choice will work fine.
11 November 2008 - 12:08 AMYes, I have heard good things about the Protos but I am finding it hard to find one in my size. Oh well. Thanks
I picked up a pair of Smart Parts Defender pants that I really dig and they were less than 40 at Action Village. Haven't put them to tourney play yet, just a practice or two in the woods, but they are extremely comfortable. What size were you looking for?
08 November 2008 - 08:07 PMI just do some of the old football stretches from football to keep the legs fresh. I've had a few hammy cramps during games and they are no fun when you hit the deck on accident. I'm one of the few who do, kinda look like a dork, but then again it does well by me.
