  1. In Topic: Military Sniper to Paintball Sniper

first of all welcome to the forum Jellyfish. I have not served but want to. I have read almost everything made public about military snipers and the art of sniping. Range and penetration are very limited in paintball as well as techniques for covering your six, no claymores and such. Bushes are great cover and concelment. I don't wear full ghillie suits mush beacuse of how heavy and hot they are and since most rounds of a game don't last long enough for you to setup properly in one. I use a ghillie blanket made out of netting on a piece of marpat cloth with jute and burlap as well as vegi tied to it, I find that it works great to set up really fast and it hides me great and I am almost 6ft.

Welcome to the art of paintball sniping.

Marine Scout Sniper... You must be like me beacuse that is how I think and play the game. I was also lucky to get a set of offical issue Marpat digis and they are awsome, you are right in saying that you need to be a marine or know someone. I have almost all military surplus or issue gear, in my opinion it is cheaper and lasts longer and preforms better.

It is just my crazy opinion that Spec Ops should add a position that is an everything position, not like Chuck Norris level, but somebody that can get the job done and can adapt to any tactical situation and carries equipment to do it.

I had a guy once who didn't want to wait for someone to shoot so he started to 'rattle' his hopper thinking that I would reveal my position for such a silly trick, all I did was wait for him to stand all the way up and I popped him right in the goggles. Shaking a hopper is defiantly a no-no

I agree with Marine Scout Sniper here, I am just trying to round out my game. I really like the special ops positions but I really think that people can get hooked into the metality that if my position wouldn't do that then I can't do it beacuse a "fill in position here" is not 'supposed' to do that. I have played as a sniper and train in marksmanship and stealth but I have also been a commander and a rifleman. I think that specialization is for bugs, and everybody should be a well rounded player to fill any tactical gaps that might open up.
