  1. In Topic: what happened to spec ops?

After reading this topic I decided to try and trick down the specops store. As far as I can tell, they were in business this time last year, then disappeared off the face of the earth. The store's website says that they're moving, and there hasn't been an update to the specops facebook account since march of 2013.

The company nearly went out of business years ago. I heard, but don't know for sure, that there was distribution issues. Tippmann bought or invested in a portion of the company and down sized, and pricing went way up. They had gear and accessories that no one else had. I still use their A5 A2 gear, Broadsword 6 harness, and Fusion jersey and pants, because they're still some of the best stuff around.

Also, I heard that one guy tried to save the company by continuing to make the soft goods, but I don't know what ever happened to him.
  3. In Topic: X7 Phenom

    10 March 2010 - 09:41 AM

I've been using the A5 since it was first released and have never seen a need to upgrade. It's plenty easy to reassemble, provided you only do a field strip, as complete tear downs are largely unnecessary. I haven't yet been able to look at the Phenom, but i do have experience with the standard X7. I found there to be little difference between the A5 and X7 other than ease of swapping fore ends. I have been somewhat board with my A5 lately and have been thinking of switching to an Invert based BT. I've played with a Mini and liked it, so a TM-7 or 15 sounds logical to me.
