14 June 2011 - 05:43 PMwow, nice paint job!
Not a paint job but dipped...first you paint a basecoat, then lay the film pattern in the water, then spray a activator to turn the film into a gel...then dip the part into the water!...sounds simple!...looks simple on Youtube!...but its not!...believe me!
Some of these parts on this gun were dipped four times before I got it right!..the shells were dipped five times!
Part of the reason was because I'm using Duracoat as a basecoat and I'm using the new Hydrographic sealer to seal the film after its dipped.
All the guys that are dipping for a living don't use Duracoat because its too extensive...most are using Auto paint!
And if any of them are using DuraCoat, they won't tell you anything!...So I started a science project and made lots of mistakes!
I've seen too many,Hydrodip...or MYDIPKIT crap pealing off!...DuraCoat is tough as nails once you wait the four to six weeks for it to fully cure!
