26 November 2007 - 07:39 AMlet me set up the scene for you:
its a big game at liberty paintball in new york if anyone's heard of it. i'm on one front that keeps getting pushed back because they have a tank and my sides all out of grenades. so while everyone around me keeps falling back, i find a concealed spot that has good cover and i slip into it without the other team seeing me. i wait until they are almost ontop of me and then i start the firefight. i must have taken out five guys before anyone realized that i was there. i end up taking out five more guys through failed attempts to bunker me, it should have been 8 more guys.
one player moves up to a bunker within ten feet of me, its not a big bunker. i shoot him in the arm and watch it break. i look to the other side and two guys are rushing up to bunker me, i shoot them both in the chest and again i see the paint break. i turn quickly to the other side again and that guy is still there shooting at me, so again i shoot him but this time i don't stop firing until i see him flinch from the hits. then i feel two shots on my back, i turn around and its the same two kids i just shot out that stayed in and shot me in the back. i call out so that i can get up and show them where they are hit.
i go to the two kids that bunkered me and i make them look at thier chest where they got hit and then i go and grab the guys arm that i shot and show him. all three of them get in my face and are trying to start a fight with me because by this time thier entire team is looking at me and aiming at me in case i try to start anything. So I say to them "look, if you guys want to be a couple of scumbags and pretend you never got hit that's fine, i'm going to go to my reinsertion point you should do the same." as i'm walking away i take a couple shots to the back.
I don't get it, i caught them in the act, and it was blatently obvious. just because there aren't any refs around doesn't mean you can feel free to cheat. i was so furious my blood was boiling. i just needed to get out my frustrations to some guys who might understand why i have them. I know its just a game but this kind of stuff really gets to me. especially when the punks are trying to pick a fight when its like 20 on 1 with the amount of kids i saw aiming thier guns at me. i'm no shrimp either i'm 6' 210 pounds and i'm an athlete.
just call out especially at games like this. you'll go back in in like five minutes that's what the reinsertions are for. that's my spiel i hope none of you guys fall victim to this.
EDIT: By the way i still had a great time at Liberty, it was a blast and one heck of a workout. The ref's were doing a great job they just can't be every where at once. this is just a little rant of mine on my dissaproval of poor player conduct.
20 November 2007 - 08:57 AMhas anyone used this stuff before? what gun did you use it on and how do you think it worked compared to whatever else you have used?
13 November 2007 - 03:57 PMThanksgiving weekend I'm playing in my first scenario ever, I've always wanted to try one and i'm finally getting the oportunity to do it. the game is going to be a one day scenario, i'm not really sure of much more of the details right now. I'd like any insight you guys have to offer for a veteran paintballer playing in his first scenario.
one thing I am wondering specifically about is gear. i just bought a vest because my speedball pod harness isn't going to be able to carry much stuff in it. i can carry about 740 paintballs in my vest and 200 in the hopper to start the game, but what i've been hearing from a lot of people is that if you're not careful you can run out of paint real quick in a scenario game.
By nature I'm not a one shot one kill specialist, i'm an accurate marksman but i am much more inclined to launch a couple of balls to make sure that i get a hit even if one bounces. I can also be a good source of suppressing fire when i have to be. but i'm afraid that if i bring my mini or quest onto the field i'm gonna run out of paint before mid-day. should I be using my Epic or ULE mag which shoots around 9 bps to make sure i don't go through paint like a pack of tic tacs or should i stick with my main markers so that i can call upon that fire power if i need it and just be conscious of my trigger finger when not as much paint is needed? do any of you guys have any advice for someone who may be a bit trigger happy by most scenario player standards?
Other than that any general advice, funny anecdotes, thought provoking statements, Useful life lessons(if you are still in highschool this probably doesn't apply to you, but if you feel compelled go for it and you might inspire me), paintball fables, and historical quotes that might apply to this discussion or are just plain entertaining are all welcome.
13 November 2007 - 03:04 PMMy best Friend goes to Ohio State, and I'm going up to visit her this weekend with one of my friends to celebrate a personal holiday of mine, Michigan Weekend. I'm not even gonna try and pretend that I could get tickets to go to the game at michigan this year, but the next best thing is going to the rival college for the weekend to enjoy the festivities. The winner of this game goes to the rose bowl basically, so i'm gonna be lucky if i make it through this weekend with all my limbs intact.
so do we have any Ohio State or Michigan fans out there? Do you guys/girls have any predictions for this weekend? do you have any special messages for the other team ie. trash talk? feel free to post it in this thread.
I'm predicting Ohio wins by two touchdowns, they're gonna want to rip some heads off after losing last weekend. but my opinions kind of biased. GO BUCKEYES!!!
13 November 2007 - 02:40 PMthere's a lot of gun lube out there. currently i'm starting to run out of the lube that my guns came with, so i'm looking to get a bulk container of one of the brand name products that are offered. I'm using the lube to slick up two elecropneumanic guns and two automags.
have any of you guys used any of these products before?
Hater Sauce V2
Hater Sauce Marmelade(designed for spool valve guns but if it works then it works)
Shocktech Gun Butta
Smart Parts Sleek
or any other paintball lubrication product
let me know how well you think it performed and give me a thumbs up thumbs down as to wether i should look into it or not.
Edit: i'm using lube for my two EP's and oil for my mags, i'm asking for opinions on both. i didn't word my original statement well, my apologies.
