08 September 2007 - 09:26 PMNot too sure how the field is that you'll be reffing at but you might wanna know how to fix the type of rental markers at your field. Also learning how to fix other types markers as well is nice to know how to do if you don't mind learning a thing or two about markers. Personally I love tinerking with markers so I try and learn to fix any type of marker I can get my hands on.
Expect to have people complain about things that don't go their way. Expect to be yelling "Barrel Sleeves On" and "Mask Down" quite often and others things that a Ref will tell people. Don't let your guard down when standing around observing players, I've had people shoot me when I'm clearly the only thing out on the field in a yellow and black jersey, red and blue mask, and totting a big red, white, and blue shield around that says "REF" on it.
Not gonna sugar coat it, reffing can really stink at times. Though like everything it has its downs and its ups for sure.
08 September 2007 - 09:02 PMWhere can I purchase a Winchester? I can't find one on Actionvillage, or ecen on SO.
Wevo Paintball stocks Winchester Hoppers, they can be found at www.wevopaintball.com Just scroll down abit and you'll find a picture of one along with the pricing and description.
Good site, I use them for all my Pump stuff and have never let me down when purchasing an item from them.
08 September 2007 - 08:57 PMMight wanna search around the Phantom Owners Group for potential ideas as well.
The site can be found at www.bunkerboyz.com/phog
08 September 2007 - 10:40 AMI can't really say what it feels to be in the thread starters position. At my local field I established myself as Speedballer and became noted for my skill, so much I decided to pick up playing Pump so I could challange myself as well to satisfy my lust for older times in Paintball . Though some of my Speedball buddys gave alittle questioning of why I started playing Pump, though I shortly showed them it didn't matter what marker I had in my hand, I was a threat to anyone out on the field playing against me.
Then I became noted for my skill with my Pumps, being one of the first picked every game on any type of field. Now I've moved onto playing more Woods then before and am working on a Custom 98 setup primarily for Woods play. This time there is really no questioning from my Speedball buddys unlike when I picked up Pump.
I've established myself as one of the most unique players at my local field being that I play so many forms of Paintball and have gained respect from most if not all the regular players out at the field despite what field they play on..All I gotta say in the end is establish yourself as a player, gain respect, and do what you want to do and not let others dictate your ways.
05 September 2007 - 03:18 PMVolusia County really cracked down on Outlaw/Renegade fields afew years back so its not likely your going to find a place where they haven't run into problems with the law. Besides that your pretty much looking at commercial fields such as Xplex, Full Throttle, and Indian River Paintball. Though I have been away from the Outlaw field scene so there is chance some new ones may have popped up.
