14 October 2007 - 04:06 PMthis is true. in order for the power of dodgy to be unstoppable, it was decided by the pagan gods (that created dodgy as a demigod to walk the internet forever) that it must be additive, lest a counter-dodgy be developed thwarting it's power and spread of ruthless dominance.
14 October 2007 - 03:35 PMThere's no country named Palestine. There are Palestinians though. They are the people who are stuck in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Palestine is the name for the region that includes Jordan, Israel, and those two territories I just mentioned.
Not quite true.
"Palestine" is the Arab world's name for the entire land that consists of Israel: Gaza, West Bank, and everything called "Israel" by the Israelis.
The Palestinians don't understand nor do they desire coexistance. The "Palestinian refugee problem" (for lack of a better term) comes from 1948 when Israel was formed, but it was not the Jews/Zionists' fault. Several arab nations (including but not limited to Syria, Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia) declared they would wipe Israel off the map, kill the Zionists, and give the land to the Palestinians. The Arabs in the land were warned to evacuate to avoid being killed. They evacuated and all went as planned... until Israel won the war against its arab neighbors and survived. Now, there are evacuated arabs without homes who refuse to live in a Jewish community. They try to seek shelter in their neighboring countries and are denied. Thus, we have the Palestinians as they exist today.
That's the shorthand version of it all.
Palestine and Israel are the same thing. Israel is the name the Jews call the area, after a biblical figure, then when the romans conquered it from the Jews (because they were too powerful- not specifically for religious motive) they sent the Jews away, and renamed the area Palestine. so Israel is Palestine is the current geographic area called Palestine, but Israel as a nation is, well, the nation of Israel. the area really belongs to the Jews, as they occupied it until they were sent away, but the Palestinians dont see it that way. the Israelis see it as somebody chased them away and isn't there anymore to keep them out, so it's okay to go back. the palestinians see it like the Israelis were in a line, then left, and now want to come back to the same place in line, which we all no is 'cutsies'.
