Topics I've Started

  1. Zombie Movies

    18 December 2008 - 01:10 PM

I love good zombie movies, but it's sometimes hard to find good ones amongst all the garbage that people film. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good zombie movies that I should watch. I don't care if the zombies are the quick zombies or the old-school slow, shuffling ones. Just post the title of the movie or post your thoughts about these movies. Just don't turn this into a "what will you do for the zombie outbreak" thread.
  2. Need help exposing a phoney...

    08 October 2008 - 04:08 PM

So this new guy at my college claims that he went to join the US Marines. He says that he went through all of boot camp, then got a physical and was medically discharged because his toe was bent funny. I can understand the discharge but what doesn't make sense is that he went through boot camp before he got a physical. I have two friends in the marines and they both got physicals before boot camp. What I want to know is if what the guy is saying could be true.
  3. Firearms on college campus

    19 September 2008 - 10:53 AM

I could have sworn that we had a topic on this not too long ago, but I couldn't find it. I have been thinking about the issues of letting people carry guns on campus and today in my Principles of Law Enforcement class we began talking about it a little. We were talking about the FBI and one of my friend's said that his RA's brother was visiting on campus and had just passed FBI training and is an actual agent now. Being an FBI agent, he is required to have his handgun on him at all times. Our professor wondered if the campus security knew about it because she was sure that they wouldn't let him keep it. A few years ago she tried to have an officer from a sheriff department come to talk during one of her classes. The officer, who was off duty at the time, refused to give up his handgun, and wasn't allowed on campus.

I was wanting to hear some input from some of you guys. In case anyone is wondering where I stand on the subject, I believe that anyone with a CCW license should be allowed to carry, even on school/college campuses. However, I can see why some people (even though I don't agree with them) don't want regular people carrying firearms. But what I can't understand is why they don't want federal agents and off duty police carrying weapons. People trust police while they are in uniform, why not when they are off duty?

BigD hasn't added any friends yet.
