13 May 2009 - 11:30 PMI agree with most of the stuff that's been said against drinking. Coming from a country that is know in particular for its "beverages," I have had enough second-hand experience to see that there is NO positive consequences to drinking.
Each one of us is born with 3 desires; to be successful, to be healthy, and to be happy. Alcohol definitely shatters the first two, and while most people in my home country argue that at you are at least happy for the time while you are drunk, reality quickly sets in and you fall to an even lower state of being than you were in the beginning.
A wise man (don't remember who) once said, "The greatest tragedy in a man's life is when he trades what he wants most for what he wants now." This quote applies to this discussion because while the short-term appeal of alcohol can be enticing, the long-term effect is devastating.
I have never participated in any drinking, and never will.
I'm not a "doom and gloom" kinda guy, but that's just my viewpoint on the subject. Any one else concur?
12 May 2009 - 02:50 PMCongrats Man. One word of caution... Like MN, I know WA has a LOT of snow during the winter. Never, ever, ever, despite how strong the urge gets, never try drifting on a car with a foot E-brake, when there are other stationary objects around. While a car is much easier to handle with a hand E-brake, foot breaks are a disaster. Trust me on that one.
^^^LOL^^^ In my driving experience of 3 years, i have hit two other cars. Those of you who don't know what black ice is, you can't relate... Just be careful and dont try to hard to impress the other sex...
08 May 2009 - 01:22 PMA war is a conflict. No-one ever wins in a confilict. Its just a question of who's the bigger loser.
While I think that war is the absolutely last, desperate measure that a country can take, I never condone it. However, as Pistol already mentioned, sometimes there is no other alternative...

I dont have anything against Deadmau5... i meant in addition to him..
K. That makes more sense.
Lol yeah. I wonder why the majority on here listens to rock...? wouldn't it be more effective to put some pots and pans by your ears and start banging the crap out of them? Depends on your mood i guess... No offense to all the rockers out there/just searching for some clarification...
Almost why I wonder why people listen to alot of rap/hip hop, wouldn't it be easier to recite crappy poetry as fast as you could to some sorta generic beat?
Prefrences my friend, and I will generalize if you will.
For the record, I think what you are reffering to is what is usually know as Death Metal/Screamo stuff/things like that, the Rock I listen too certaintly isn't any "pots and pans" bangin around thank you very much.
No offense to Death metalists or rappers or anything out there, just making a point and answering a question.
Lol now that was.... Funny . BTW, hip-hop doesnt have to be "fast poetry" either. I see your point about the death metal and yeah, that's what i was referring to. Also, there is so much variation within each genre that it doesn't appear as a single genre. Thanks for the clarification, ACE.
No need to caps all, Ace will do just fine
Oh and your welcome, glad we can both be on the same level *shakes Russian's hand*
Lol agreed Ace *shakes Ace's hand*

Yeah, that was Stalin. Whether or not war is justified, its always about the money. Now money is not a bad thing; its just a tangible form of evalutation that we use to evaluate other tangible things as well as the intangible (quality, work, labor). It can be used to feed a person, as well as to kill/murder a person. However, the LOVE of money is the bad thing.
As far as whether a killing was justified or not, it is still murder. The consequence after the killing is where the difference emerges.
I've heard a saying that states "Theft is the only sin that exists." When you kill, you steal a life. When you kill, you steal that individual's family's right to that individual and so on. When you commit adultery, you steal that person's partner's right to that person and so on... Whether or not it was justified, you still committed theft. Once again, the consequences is where the difference emerges.
My .02... What do you guys think?
