Posts I've Made
13 December 2011 - 10:36 AMSneaking back in to look at the old game threads (bored at work, literally nothing better to do). It's been awhile, hasn't it? Only one that I'm still in touch with is Lo, and I haven't heard from Ashrak in years. Sent him a PM about a year back, never heard anything from him. He's probably leading a revolution somewhere.
Mech, dollars to donuts says I still own you in Mafia
...also, speaking of TDF logos, mine was far more discrete before the TDF went public.
02 August 2009 - 04:41 PMNecro! I'm poking my head back in here for a moment, just to reminisce - I'm feeling nostalgic tonight. Anyway, most of my favorite moments came outside of the games themselves - the PMs between me and Ash before, during and after games were always good times.
Though the most vivid memories I have are of Ash screwing me over via MDK's passive cultist role in Providence (though we all partied into the night at Lo's General Store), and of the cracked_melon experiment. To this day, I can't believe it worked as well as it did. Also, any time I submitted stuff to a narrator for my deaths, or just to put me into the game, thanks for working with me - i.e. Jerusalem, and holing up in the church tower in Independence.
I think our Golden Era was games 6 through 15. I didn't play in Iraq (at least, I don't remember it), and Vietnam was mirrored too much to be a truly fair contest. MDK, Epic, Ash and I held a mini-renaissance later on (I think Ash will agree that Tsar was a failed experiment - kingmaker games don't work here), but that was it for me. I haven't paid attention since the SOFAs ended, so I'm not sure what's gone on since then.
Anyway, I've been meaning to post something like this for awhile, but haven't gotten around to it. It was fun, guys. I always enjoyed going up against Ash and MDK, and liked working with them even more, since we all tried to screw each other even when we were on the same team. Mech, it was always a joy to play with you, and even though at times I played you like a tuned and oiled fiddle, both as a player and a mod, I hope you had as much fun as I did. You kept it light, but the games were always of a higher quality when you played. Lo, I know you're still on here, since you PM'd me on facebook today, and you're still working for the man (aka SOF) - thanks for being a good friend and teammate, and a worthy adversary. Duce, you were my favorite player to moderate - you got stuff in quick, and made sure you understood stuff before talking, but when you did - you talked a lot. Mitch, you were highly underrated - you caught little things that Ash and I missed every time, and going back over games, I'm impressed by what you managed to spot. MOP - you'll never play in my games again :-). Just kidding, man. Thanks for working hard and improving both your typing and mafia skills so much. Ash - I still owe you a black eye or two for your antics, but it was always just a game, and I'm glad we were able to keep it in perspective. To everybody who played - including sean and his friends/multiple accounts- thanks. It was fun, and I'd like to think we had something special here. I loved modding games, and enjoyed playing almost just as much. If you guys are ever looking for a game, I'm only a PM away.
Until the Shout,
10 May 2009 - 12:42 PMIf the tourney player can get into a 50/50, he'll win. I've never met a woodsballer with better gun skills than a speedballer if they've got equivalent experience. If the woodsballer can get the drop on the speedballer, he's got a chance - but if those first few shots don't do the job, he's in a lot of trouble.
