30 November 2007 - 07:36 PMI have used both scopes and sights in paintball and I have to say that I like to use both of them.
My 4x32 ACOG scope is primarily used for spotting players who look like bumps on trees, or people in ghillie suits from far away. However they are not so good to have when the actual combat starts because it is almost impossible to quickly engage someone when you have magnification. I use my scope when I am playing long scenario games and when I am hanging around in the back, picking off targets and yelling out orders .
When I am playing regular walkon or CQB (close quarter battle) games, I use my G&P EoTech sight. ((Ebay link if you're interested))
As you can see, it is a holographic sight with a big spotting window that allows you to keep both eyes open while shooting. It's a great feeling to pop your marker to your shoulder and have the crosshairs right in front of your face without having to cock your head or squint.
25 October 2007 - 01:39 PMHey, I'll PM you silent_kill.
12 September 2007 - 06:27 PMGood advice Marauder. There's no sense in getting rid of my A-5 until I've decided that I really like something better.
And I also like the idea of combining the money for my A-5 and, say, a superstock to buy my dream marker
12 September 2007 - 05:19 PMWow, the only difference between you and I is that you are a few steps ahead of me, haha! Yes, I've got some thinking to do...
