14 May 2009 - 02:16 AMWell, I'm not really an expert at all, but from my limited experience testing a few T9's I can say that Tiberius makes one hell of a good marker. As for the FS rounds, I'm also waiting to see how those work out...
I'm more of a stealthy suppressive-fire type guy, not a 'sniper' per se, but I would love to see some kind of mod or kit I could use to slide a FS round in when necessary, maybe a barrel back with some kind of door you could open to slip one in... just a thought, but this really isn't the place for it.
Anyway, Tiberius marker - HIGHLY recommended, just from what I know (I don't own one). First Strike - Let me know how it works if you choose to go this route!
Will do thanks for the advice on the T9
04 December 2008 - 01:47 PMI tried the Qloader but like you said it is a hassle. Me personally I like my gravity hopper. But the longbow tubes are good except for the lack of ammo.
29 April 2008 - 12:21 PMthe best thing about playing a sniper is that you do not have to spend alot for a good marker. I have 2 that I use. One an A-5 with a 20" black dust barrel, collapsible stock and an x7 hopper. The 2nd is an X-7 spec ops sniper rifle from RAP4. The best advice I can give you is start small and work your way up till you find what is best suited for you. as for myself I started with an A-5 and worked up. Try different barrels. stand about 50 to 75 feet from your buddy close your eyes and listen as he fires in your direction (at you) so you can listen to see if the barrel is quiet enough for you. If you want to go with a speed ball marker set the q-bow is good (when it works) but one plus to it it is silent. Hope this helps.
Im completely new to both woodsball and sniping for that matter. this past year some friends got me into woodsball and i fell in love.
heres the deal,
I love woodsball and i love being a marksman, thus i'd like to set up a sniper marker.
ive been spending the past week reading this site looking for info and doing searches and research and now i decided to join and post for help.
the wife gave me an unlimited spending amount (she doesnt want me to spend 7 grand on a real sniper rifle) so price doesnt matter.
i have all the necessary clothes already, now i just need a marker.
All i want is something quiet, will give great accuracy, and also be fun at the same time. the local place i believe only allows 260 fps. if someone wants to PM me or email me at email@example.com that would be fine, i just dont want to be in trouble for people making this a 17 page thread.
i know this is a very broad request but hopefully someone knows what im asking.
Thanks in advance.
29 April 2008 - 12:13 PMI'll have to say it is a good thread but I will have to disagree with some of the info you presented. Im not trying to start a female dog session, that is the last thing on my mind so please do not feel offended. I respect your knowledge but it definatley different than mine.
First of all I used to think that anything over 16 inches is useless untill I found a barrel that is 20" and I checked it out for the hell of it. It is a blackdust barrel for my A-5. Anything I have read about barrels I totally disregarded. It is accurate and quiet. i didnt think it was possible to make an A-5 quiet. however I have used some other barrels. I did have an 18" stiffi barrel and to me it just worked like crap.
Secondly I dont think full auto is adequate for a sniper because I believe playing a sniper is more of psychological game. You ambush a group of five and take one or two our with your first couple of shots. The others cant find you therefore they make mistakes to take the rest out.
The q/long bow I cant really say anything about it except I had a q-bow and had nothing but bad luck with it.
All I am trying to say is that everyone is different and should believe every thing they read. Try out what is best for you.
