  1. New 1 Piece Stock 400 round Hopper

    13 March 2009 - 07:41 AM

A subject not talked about much is hopper designs. I am designing a hopper that will span the length of an average 98 custom, of course modified to be streamlined, look good, etc. My inspiration came to me as I was filling my hopper again, and noticed how a pod when turned sidewways represented a hopper. More idea than material at this point.

I think (or maybe just hope) that this SIMPLE, STOCK HOPPER-ISH, CHEAP, TIPPMANN COMPATIBLE, GRAVITY FED, LIGHT, PLAIN BLACK OR CAMOFLAUGE idea is not new, we all want to carry more paint and refill less. Maybe this idea (AFOREMENTIONED)has been made into reality, but i havent seen it.

    SUPPLIES:
    1 paint pod
    1 stock 98 hopper
    Black Duct Tape
    4 5/16" screws and nuts
foam from a APEX barrel package
true timber camoflauge material from walmart

    TOOLS:
    hacksaw
    phillips screw driver
    razor blade
    PATIENCE

i cant wait to use this bad boy in a game, i believe the pod holds 200? as well as the hopper, so ere looking at 400 rounds give or take. thats a lot more room to carry smoke grenades, water, snacks, extra paint, etc. Additionally, im running external air via coil, so the guns still light as it can be. the true test will be using it in the field, hitting branches, sliding, etc.

Here are the basic construction photos from start to finish, some photos did not size correctly so they may look shorter or squashed.

Step 1, cut the end of a stock tippmann hopper, about 1.5 inches in.

    Posted Image

Step 2, remove the lid from a typical pod, drill or screw holes for 5/16 screws on both sides parallel from one another. remove the lid hinge mount flanges on the side of the pod.

    Posted Image

Step 3, insert flat headed fine thread screws into all four holes.

    Posted Image

    Posted Image

Step 4, drill respective holes into hopper, align screws and apply nuts.

    Posted Image

Step 5, cut round foam pieces from apex package in halves, then shove a half into open area inside hopper next to pod on each side to weatherproof.

    Posted Image

    Do same to outside

    Posted Image

Step 6, use your favorite color of duct tape to tightly seal the combination.

I covered the final product with True Timber material, which is like a vinyl polyester product, which i believe i picked up from walmarts sewing dept.

this is it installed on the marker, looks like it sits a bit high, but when held its not really in the way and isnt really high.

What ya think? im ready to market idea.
  2. D-Day 2009 June 8th - 14th

    01 March 2009 - 04:17 PM

    Sound Off, Whos Going?

D-Day is rapidly approaching us. In anticipation of this event, I felt it only proper to share any information I have on registration. You must register as soon as possible to avoid the unit you want filling up. Registration is already near 2000, with a cap at 4000 I believe this year. Go online at ddayadventurepark.com and register online securely by credit or debit card. Dont forget to print out the waiver form as well.
Hotels are filling up fast, 2 of 6 are booked for this events timetable. They also tend to fill up closer to the field faster, so if you're late in planning this youll be driving from Joplin! I found a great deal at Best Western (bestwestern.com) for $69 a night.

Below is my posted information on our teams forum page: Hope it helps potential DDAY players.

    D-Day Adventure Park 66800 E. 175 Rd. Wyandotte, OK. 74370 (918)-666-3411

    DATES:

    JUNE 8TH-14TH, 2009

    DEADLINES:

BEFORE JUNE 8TH! All 4000 slots will fill up quickly so send in registrations and waiver forms as soon as possible!

    AGE LIMITS and other FAQ’S:

    1. Do I have to sign a waiver if I'm over 18?

Everyone who enters the playing field, whether player or spectator, must sign a waiver. You must also wear ATSM approved paintball goggles if you enter the playing field for any reason.

    2. Does my parent have to pay the registration fee if he is only going to watch?

No. Only players (participants) are required to pay the registration fee. You can bring whoever you like, and there is no charge! Only if they play!! If you are a player, your guests are also welcome to camp with you as long as they like!

    3. How much paint do I need?

Expect to use at least one case of paint during the game. If you are going to play any of the mini-scenarios or a pickup game on the speedball field, you will need additional paint. In that case, you should plan on a minium of two cases of paint.

    4. Registration Form & Waiver Form

The registration form can be printed and faxed or you can fill out the registration online and pay online. The waiver form will need to be filled out by someone 18 years of age or older at the event. If there will not be one there, you will need have your parent sign and fax the waiver in to the Bunker.

    5. What do I get for my $70 entrance fee?

You will be entered in a number of drawings for prizes. Your air is paid for the entire week. You can participate in any of the activities without extra fee's, except the sniper course ($18 extra).

    6. What is the age limit, and what waiver's do my parents need to sign?

10 years of age, or older, your parents must sign your waiver, not you. We would prefer 15 or older if not accompanied by parents.

    7. What Unit should I join?

This is entirely up to you. Your first step in choosing a unit is to choose a army. Your basic choices are German, or Allied. IF you go Allied you have some more options, You can go Commonwealth (British, Canadian), American, or French. Germans dont have that same type of national division of the Allies, but they have a whole myriad of Units. The third step, is to read over the unit descriptions found on the main page, or ask around to get a description. A good place to get this kind of info is in the Recruiting Depot. Once you find a unit you are interested in, contact that unit commander for more detailed explanation of what they do and to find out how many, if any, player slots are availabe. Units have player size caps, especially in some more elite unit.

All Great Plains Brigade Ballers relative to KC and surrounding areas, come raise some hell! Halloween Drinks (enough reason there) like Vampire blood and nuclear waste, frightful foods, vintage horror movies and halloween fun, this themed halloween party will be sure to bring out the devil in you.

    Some interesting Halloween info:
Halloween is a special holiday that is celebrated on the very last day of the month of October. This day revolves mostly around children, although some fun-loving adults enjoy joining in on the fun. The word of Halloween originated in the Catholic Church. It is a spin-off of the holiday of All Saints Day, also knows as All Hollows Day.

All Saints Day is a Catholic holiday in honor of the religious saints. In the 5th century BC, in Ireland, summer used to officially end on October 31, and that day was call Celtic New Year. It was thought that on this New Year day that the spirits of those who had died in the past year, would come back to earth hoping to receive another chance at life.

The Celtics believed that on this one special day, the rules of time and space did not apply and that the spirits could actually speak with the living. Obviously, this scared people terribly, and in an effort to keep the spirits away, they would put out all fires in their homes; the belief being that if the homes were cold and miserable the spirits would not wish to join them. The people would then dress up in scary outfits and walk around making a lot of noise to scare away any spirits. This tradition has since evolved into the Halloween that we know today.

Of course if ya dont look 21, dont even try to drink here. sorry, its different when you become a homeowner=).
    Lets get it!!!
