Topics I've Started
27 November 2007 - 06:29 PMi'm looking to sell my laptop but i have no idea what its worth. here are the specs:
Windows XP Pro
Microsoft Office Pro Suite
Intel Pentium Dual-Core (2.8GHz)
40 Gb Hard Drive
Wireless-G PCI Adapter
DVD/CD Drive (does not burn dvds only reads them. it does burn CDs though)
15 inch screen (not exactly, it looked about three inches larger than my ruler...)
I'm selling it with the power cord and a really nice laptop case (cost ~$40)
i think thats everything. what do you think?
03 November 2007 - 08:17 AMi'm thinking of playing pump soon, and i saw how cheap tactical trilogies were, so i think i might buy one.
how much maintenance does a trilogy require? and how good are they as pump guns?
also, i noticed that AV doesn't sell them anymore, so is there any other place that had them for as cheap as AV did?
01 November 2007 - 05:49 PMHow much would it cost to do a hard corps torque loader in spec ops digi? here's a picture if you haven't seen one yet:
also, how much would it cost to do a dangerous power fusion in spec ops digi?
31 October 2007 - 04:55 PMi just finished my indoor speedball field in my barn [really big barn] and invited some people to play in it. everyone that played, loved it. since alot of people don't have any decent gear [think viewloader and spyder guns], i was thinking of holding tournaments with prizes to help them build up their gear. also, it would also make them better players, because some of them might actually try to get better so they can win the prize.
i was thinking of doing something like this:
3-man speedball tournament
$5 entry per player
about 4-6 teams worth of people play paintball in my school [which is awesome]
if i got 4 teams at a tournament, then i would get $60. from there, i would take $20 to add to the field budget [field still needs work] and then use the other $40 for a prize for 1st place.
so what can i get for $40 that could be split up among 3 people? i was also thinking we could do 2-man tournaments, so each player on the team would get something better for a prize. do you think this is a good idea? all i can think of is like cheap pod packs, masks [some players don't even own equipment, so i lend out mine], etc.
i could do 1 man tournaments, but i think it would be a bit unfair, since the better players would win and they already have decent equipment.
09 October 2007 - 05:23 PMwell, for some of you that may have viewed and helped with this topic, we had a pretty good turnout yesterday. we played at least 15 if not 20 games. we had two players show up that weren't invited, but i'm glad they showed up. one i had played with before and the other was the kid that fills our co2 tanks [his dad owns a shop and the kid bought all of the stuff required to fill the tanks, so he can make the profit from it]. i'm going to ask this kid if he wants to be on our team because him and i work really well together. plus, we can get our co2 filled whenever we want.
tempers did rage though, with lots of swearing involved. refs might be a good idea next time. all problems were resolved though, which was good. no, i did not get any waivers signed like you guys suggested. the worst thing that happened was one kid got shot in the finger and he bled.
the first game, we played 3v5 with the 3 more experienced players on one team. we destroyed the other team without losing a single player. then we split up the players to make it even.
i didn't go all out in these games, i tried to work on my skills. i wouldn't spray and pray, and i would try to get all of my eliminations by snap shooting or posting. i snap shot two players in one game which was the highlight of the day for me. i had to play with co2 yesterday which sucked because i couldn't get my compressed air tank filled. so my shots weren't as consistent, but they were pretty good.
i would post pictures, but they were all taken on my friends camera. maybe later.
one side of the barn was better than the other because it had access to the upstairs, and more fortification. i'm going to work on building more bunkers on the other side and possibly not using the upstairs.
any ideas on how i can make it more even?
any other suggestions? such as types of games or anything? i was thinking capture the flag, but i want some more urban oriented scenarios. i'm thinking of doing games like my local woodsball field. we play with different rules every two games [so both teams can play on both sides]. here's what i have now:
50 round [each player gets only 50 rounds, also a flag involved]
civil war [load paintballs by hand or use a pump with hopper]
hopper ball [use just one hopper for the game]
rogue [two people are rogues, when they shoot players on other team, they become rogues]
ghost [using respawns and as much paint as you want]
anything else? i think i might do center flag, because no one goes up the middle until there's only one or two left.
what do you think? here's the link to my other topic to get pictures of the barn and my little sketch of it: link
any help is welcome.
