Topics I've Started
19 March 2009 - 06:40 PMWhich Woodland camo was darker (not the digital woodland) the Twill or the Rip Stop? I noticed sometimes there is a color variation in pics.
02 March 2009 - 02:53 PMHey guys
What triggers does the Palmers 2 finger trigger shoe fit?
They say it fits most, but I have a Hinge frame from WGP and I can tell you, it's not true.
22 November 2008 - 12:29 PMThis is my vest
So why is it here? Because of the paint this sucker can potentially carry that's why. I crunched the numbers and if I upgraded to the 160 round pods and put two of my 50 round pods into my utility pouch, I can carry a massive 2020 rounds on this thing in one trip. But I have the 140s and I think that's good enough.
Full Coverage Vest
4 front Horizontal Pod Pouches
6x6 Utility Pouch
6+2 vertical pod pouches on the back
Horizontal tank holder
buckle up front
velcro shoulder straps
This thing is great to wear. There isn't an ounce of mesh on the outside it's all cordura but I still love it. The neck has some kind of soft fabric too.
05 November 2008 - 01:17 PMI just thought that I'd pass this along. For those that have problems every now and then with either barrel breaks or chops and want good shoot through mixed with decent air efficiency and low cost, I'd recommend a 16 inch J&J Ceramic barrel.
I just took a ruler and measured the porting distance from the start of the barrel and it's a lil over 8 inches. This should help air efficiency and the Teflon coating will aid in self cleaning and a lil bit on velocity (I looked up its coating characteristics on wikipedia, Teflon is noted to be very slick and to be a no-stick type of surface which is why they tried using it on pots, pans and skillets and such).
I'll be using it on my A5.
01 November 2008 - 06:56 PMI wanna thank both Jellyfish and JOE MAC.
The guys I play with wanted to do a countersniper game before they quit for the day today. Since all markers have the same range in general it was a suicide mission because guess who they wanted as the sniper (me). That and it was 3 on 1.
The situation handed to me was that they wanted me to use a semi-auto only marker so they handed me my friends Autococker. I didn't have mine with me and his still had the stock feedneck and the metal bolt (So I'm thinking "gee, great this thing is likely to chop on me, no delrin bolt...") But at least he had a good hopper and it was in deed an autococker... But he had it set on a lower psi than I like.
So here I am, hydration pack under the jacket because it doesn't match my camo, desert boots with panama soles (I prefer them because hardly anything sticks to the soles so I always have optimum traction), with a red and black autococker with no rubber bands to use. No sights, no scope even un-magnified (though I prefer unmagnified for paintball), solid multicam, with a self made totally multicam shemagh on and a V-Force Armor mask with a Special Ops Paintball Omnipat mask cover. I have a throat mic that I cannot use because I have no back up. I can not call in any kind of support.
So all I have to use is my mind. So I'm pulling things out of all most every sniper's manual I've ever read, Army, Navy SEALs, and Scout Sniper. On top of this I'm thinking, What has JOE MAC and Jellyfish been preaching? *thinking, thinking, thinking* "Don't be where they expect a sniper, it's a death trap.." Where can I hide? Where would they think I would be? Can't hide up front, I can't count how many people would try being that cute about being cleaver... Cover, Cover, I need to let my camo work for me...
So while they are walking all around me my feet hurt (I'm flat footed), in my mind I "see" Jellyfish saying something pretty much out of the manual, "Don't move, take the pain." Then I "hear" Hathcock, "Shut-up and listen, every sound means something." Birds causing a lil racket "Yup that confirms it, one of them is to my 4 o'clock. Eventually I hear nothing and I slowly look around and can't see anything or hear footsteps. Ok I can get off of my feet. So I slowly get off of my feet. I hear footsteps Oh great my boots are hangin out from beside this tree, then I "hear" JOE MAC saying a summery of another topic "If they see your boots you are screwed anyway..." The only positive in all of this is I'm barely making a sound, the birds are more concerned about them than me. That and I'm so calm that I'm barely breathing and I'm so calm my eyes periodically shut and when they do my hearing becomes more concentrated and focused on everything around me. All of this and I'm thinking "I really wish I could use an M40A3 about right now but unfortunately they don't use paint..."
3 men in a zone of less than a 1/4 of a mile long and wide hunting down one sniper and it took 15 minutes to find one man. The only thing they could Identify was that I was keeping my head down to not produce glare and my lense appeared too dark. Bare in mind this is a totally clear lens.
These guys walked all around me and were so close for so long it was amusing. Thanks guys, you took my game and added so much more to it. I didn't even have a chance to use a ghillie.
