Topics I've Started
07 November 2010 - 02:18 PMLooking for paintball players in North Eastern Utah. A few years ago before the recession hit there was tournaments held in this area. I am looking to possibly restart that or even better find a way to start some woodsball tournaments.
If you are interested or just want to play PM me.
12 April 2009 - 04:17 PMI've been commanding a team for two years now. I leave for college in a little less than three months. I need to select a replacement commander. My NCO is leaving for the summer as well. Unfortunately I see no potential in any of the other players on the team. Its one of those situations where each player is good at what he does but each temperament does not get along with another. I'm afraid that if I put one guy in charge I'd lose half the team. Prolly mostly my fault. I built the team in two separate squads. I trained the squads to be very competitive with each other. Granted the squads have become excellent at their craft, but my NCO and I are really the only mediators between the two.
Recruiting isn't a real option due to the low selection of people to play around here. Plus it takes time for a commander to earn respect. I know my team wouldn't like that either. They're very picky on who they follow. I'm afraid this might be the end of the team...Suggestions anyone?
12 November 2008 - 08:17 AMFor those who care my team finally added a recon unit. I'm familiar with with recon and such, having done a little myself when I needed to on the field, but I've never had a full blown unit dedicated to. So, I'm still figuring out the kinks in the system. This weekend my team plays two other teams on ground we all have never played or seen before( besides, ironically my recon unit). My curiosity is, how would I effectively deploy in battle and use my recon unit against a superior force. Besides location of and number of opponents, what are some things I should ask for that most people normally don't think of. I'm just looking for information that would help me use this new tool to its greatest effectiveness.
12 June 2008 - 07:41 PMWell, its summer. So, with so much time on my hands now, my team and I have been throwing around the idea of hosting a invitational. Basically throw advertisments for a one day local event this summer. We figure it'll be a good way to see the local talent and meet new players. Since the locals around here seem to be more into airsoft, we're going to try one for that first. If that goes weel, and we have enough call for it, we'll prolly put on a paintball one sometime this fall.
What I need help with is all the logistical stuff. Which means basically everything. From where to start, to advertising, down to D-day. How would we run the event and the whole process. If anyone has any experience with this I'd love your help. I figure this'll be more of a woods tournament rather than a scenario. Although new ideas for something along those lines is always welcome.
28 February 2008 - 07:02 PMI've noticed that the forum is sadly lacking a on broadsword info. The hope of this topic is to get a guide for new broadswords and their commanders. I'm looking for any tips, tricks, skills, and basics. Give me info on the style, personality, and mental training of a broadsword. I honestly don't have alot of experience with this position and want to learn more to better be able to train and help my team.
I would like to learn about the steps of a broadswords training. From when you buy your marker, to when you can effectively call yourself an efficent broadsword. I'm looking to compile some articles about the broadsword. So any of those would help too. I'm familiar with what SpecOps has wrote about the position, but I want to take it a step furhter and get some details. I'm looking for replys from experienced broadswords as well as newer ones with experiences and new tricks they've learned.
My broadsword is new to the position and I've noticed how much I really don't know about the positon. So I am unable to effectly guide him in figuring out his position and how to mix him into the team. I hope this thread will fix this.
