Topics I've Started
05 October 2008 - 07:21 PMSince I'm certain that at least a few other people out there also own SMG-60s here on the forums, I'm creating this thread for the purpose of documenting readily-available replacements for commonly-broken/lost parts for the SMG-60. While I have done my best to ensure that the parts listed and documented below are correct, there may be errors so anybody using this list will be doing so exclusively at his or her own risk.
Off-The-Shelf Replacement parts:
1) Magazine end-cap: 7/8" square vinyl cap for tubing
2) Magazine-retaining capscrew (10-24x 1.0in): McMaster-Carr P/N: 91251A247 (Stainless Steel: 92196A247)
3) Trigger and Sear pivot, and trigger group spring-retaining pins: McMaster-Carr P/N: 98381A441 (Stainless Steel: 98380A441)
Parts that require modification:
1) Magazine spring: McMaster-Carr P/N: 9293K46 (must have the hole enlarged and a 90 degree bend added)
Parts that require fabrication/machining:
1) Magazine (original style) magazine_SMG_60_10052008.pdf (34.6K)

22 September 2008 - 09:28 AMBesides http://www.tommygunshop.com/ and sometimes ebay, does anybody know of any other good sources for Thompson M1 wood parts?
26 August 2008 - 07:26 PMPost it here.
10 August 2008 - 04:16 PMGiven that there were some poll responses to my STEN/M3 thread that indicated a preference for neither choice (nor indicated in the thread what people would rather see), I'm looking into options for other designs that might be viable for me to do as mods for the 98C (or Platinum) as well-fitted bodykits, possibly with some milling of the base marker.

07 August 2008 - 05:34 PMHas anybody out there considered attempting a mod to integrate a derivative of/modification of a Tiberius Arms magazine with an Automag valve in a 1:1 scale M4/M16 metal airsoft receiver (or similar)? Looking over the numbers, it should be possible despite being a tight fit (magazine width and trigger group being the two critical areas); it's probably limited only by a combination one's budget and skills (but then again, what mod isn't). No, it's not going into my queue for future projects at this time since I'm not yet certain when I'll be done working on the STEN and yes, I have seen the automag-based ones that are out there that are conventionally remote-line/hopper-fed despite being packaged in metal receivers..
