    Get it right. It's annoying.
  2. sorting your paint by size

One-balling people is about consistency - stable gas source, precise marker design, setup and tuning, clean barrel and paint matched to the barrel bore size.

On that last point, folks, if you're serious about one-balling people, you have to size your paint.

I suppose you could do like the tournament guys and trying blowing a few paintballs through Freak inserts until you find one that's a good fit. They only do this for a few paintballs per box though and call it good enough since, if a few shots go astray, there are 15 more balls following it.

You want to be truly disciplined about paint-to-bore matching?

Get a good quality ball gauge and drop every ball through, sorting into bags for different sizes. I use a Hammerhead gauge as it's the only one I've found that's precision cut: http://hammerheadpaintball.com/index.php?o...=3&Itemid=3

As an aside: you'll find the better quality paint will have less variation in size. Draxxus Hellfire was fantastic, when they still made it. I shoot X-Ball Gold now which is close but has a bit more of a seam. Seamless paint is preferred as the size changes less as the ball rotates.

So, who else does this? I can't be the only one with half a dozen numbered zip-lock baggies in front of me while watching TV...
  3. I'm back!

    21 June 2009 - 08:12 AM

    Hey all!

I took a year+ hiatus while I was between cities and I'm getting back into the game.

So, what's new? I see Palmer making the Pyre now. Anything interesting on the tourney gear circuit? Any new laws that are making life difficult/easy for us?

I still have an Automag (two now, in fact) but I'm looking at getting another Blazer, this one customized, as I miss the silence and consistency of that marker.

FYI, I also got back into another hobby, photography, and I plan to put that to use on the paintball field.
