Command Decisions Wargames Center, Taylorsville NC.
Its that time once again to start planning for Fulda Gap 2009. Northa Carolina's premier scenario paintball event is back. The WARSAW Pact forces will be trying to maintain their winning streak and NATO will be trying to end that streak and claim victory.

Fuda Gap is a theoretical battle between the forces of the WARSAW Pact (Soviets) and the NATO Alliances. Had the cold war ever heated up, this would be the openign moves of World War III. Tanks, mines, Air Strikes, Chemical Gas Attacks, and Nuclear Missle are in play. Dont forget your chemical weapons gear!

20 March 2009 - 05:30 AMLAOS: THE SECRET WAR
A Historic Scenario Game
May 2-3, 2009
The secret war in Laos began with a few occasional hill tribe employees but by the late 1970's had turned into a multi-U.S.-intelligence agency which supported a 30,000+ member 'Secret Army' of irregulars who secured villages, fought invaders, defended against civil war enemies, protected secret US facilities that 'officially' didn't exist, and rescued downed American pilots from places they didn't 'officially' fly over.
Meanwhile Laos Hill Tribes also produced manpower for a 'Secret Air Force' and other operations to help covert U.S. operations which kept around 100,000 invading North Vietnamese troops preoccupied while destroying tons of enemy military supplies.
This game will be to honor those Hmong tribesman who supported the US effort in Southeast Asia and paid for it after we left. For a historical background of the Secret War check out LAOS : The Secret War and watch Air America with Mel Gibson and Robert Downey, Jr.

There has been a slight change of plans however. The extended weather forcast for August has caused a change of dates for the "Platoon Leader" MilSim event. Platoon Leader has been changed to November 7th, the Friday of Fulda Gap. So the weekend of the 7th-9th just got a whole lot more interesting. If you haven't played in a true MilSim event then this is the perfect oppertunity. Limited spaces available. This is a limited ammo event with a very different rule set then your normal run of the mill scenario. Full details and rule sets along with registration info will be posted in short order.
11 February 2008 - 03:13 AMThe Third Annual Vietnam Patrol will be held on April 26th at CDP, Taylorsville, NC.
Command Decisions Paintball and Tactical Diversion Presents
Vietnam Patrol 2008: Khe Sanh
The Battle of Khe Sanh was conducted in northwestern Quang Tri Province, Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam), between 21 January and 8 April 1968 during the Vietnam War. The combatants were elements of the United States (U.S.) III Marine Amphibious Force (III MAF) and two to three division-size elements of the People's Army of Vietnam (PAVN).
The American command in Saigon initially believed that combat operations around Khe Sanh during the summer of 1967 were just part of a series of minor North Vietnamese offensives in the border regions. That appraisal was altered when it was discovered that PAVN was moving major forces into the area during the fall and winter. A build-up of Marine forces took place and actions around Khe Sanh commenced when the Marine base was isolated. During a series of desperate actions that lasted 77 days, Khe Sanh Combat Base (KSCB) and the hilltop outposts around it were under constant North Vietnamese ground and artillery attacks.
In March 1968, an overland relief expedition (Operation Pegasus) was launched be a combined Marine/Army/South Vietnamese task force that eventually broke through to the Marines at Khe Sanh. The battle itself was a tactical victory for the Marines, but the strategic implications of the battle still remain unclear.
The objective f the scenario is to capture and maintain control of territory at specific points during the day, as well as successfully completing missions issued by the command for both sides. Leadership positions are available for the above-mentioned major units. Please call CD Paintball for details if you are interested in leading troops. There are perks!
Mark your calendars now, and register early. Registration is $35 on game day, and $25 to pre register. Pre Registration will be open until April 25th! Plus there is a $5 discount for all current or former US veterans.
This is a field pant only event. Paint will be supplied by our friends at Archon Paintball and prices will start at $40 a case and up. The game will start prompty at 10:30 and end at 5:30 with the prize drawing at 6:00. The field will open at 8:00 am. Food will be sold by Bethlehem Baptist Youth Group from noon until 2:00.
