12 March 2009 - 08:45 AMHey man gun is lookin good! I got a quick question, Where did you get the black stuff that is around the steel wire goin to the ASA? Thanx...if you could PM that would be awesome!
It's Split Wire Loom available from Radio Shack (my preference) although you can also get it from Lowe's or Home Depot. Look in the electronic section.
10 March 2009 - 04:08 PMI really like it but see no purpose for the laser, light, and bipod.
I guess it depends on how you play. Obviously you play differently than my group does. As a former Police Officer myself, quite often we will assist Police SWAT teams with their training by working scenarios with them and maintaining as much realism as possible.
Here are a few recent photos. We had "taken over" an elementary school and held 34 "hostages" inside. The Police SWAT team was to use whatever means possible to dislodge us by 12:00 noon at which time a pyrotecnic device (put in place by the Army National Guard) would detonate. The entire scenario took approximately 5 hours. It was extremely realistic. In dark hallways and rooms, the tac lights and lasers are quite useful in these scenarios, I assure you.
On a side note, the SWAT team pictured all had some type of light taped to their barrels before this scenario ended.
SWAT stacked up (note the throw phone & ballistic shield):
The whole group:
Three "terrorists" inside the darkened building (yes, I'm one of them):
The jury is still out on the bipod. I'm not sure I like it either.
09 March 2009 - 02:03 PMis that the ak tactical from ops gear, if so will it accept most barrels...oh and it looks very nice
and if u didnt get it from ops gear where i gotta know
Actually it's the Tacamo front end with a FAB Defense front handguard modded to fit. It will accept other barrels but it's really a pretty good barrel. I ordered the Tacamo front end on the internet and got the FAB Defense hand guard from a vendor at a gun show. After some modification, it went right on.
The bipod might be somewhat excessive, the jury is still out on it. I will say this though, pull it out at a woodsball game and heads turn.
