Topics I've Started
15 November 2008 - 05:16 PMDo you enjoy being at the focal points of every attack? Then the Rangers are for you.
Do you enjoy being surrounded and/or outnumbered and expected to accomplish the mission? Then the Rangers are for you.
Do you enjoy the thought of being a self-sufficient unit, carrying everything you will need with you into battle? Then the Rangers are for you.
Do you like the idea of being in battle at any point or place on the entire DDay Field of battle? Then the Rangers are for you.
Do you want to feel the pride and honor, of hearing the Enemy vacating their positions directly in your path while hearing, "The Rangers are coming..." ? It happens. Then the Rangers are for you.
We are tasked with the Honor of accomplishing our Missions, be it Taking or Holding an objective, REGARDLESS of the casualties incurred. To do this, we are looking for "TEAM" players. Doesn't matter if you have a team, are on a team, or are signed up as a team. We want players who are part of THE Team, the Ranger team. We can't use any "Rambo" types, so if that's your style you may wish to look elsewhere, or be assimilated. We are looking for qualified Individuals, as well as entire Teams. We already have Teams signed up, and others hopefully on the way. Slots are still available, but you should really think it over and act quick to get registered ASAP. We always have a good number of returning vets that sign up every year, but this year we are expecting to have even more than usual returning Rangers. First come, first in. Only 50 slots per BN, and some are already taken.
There are many excellent units at DDay, as most of those that attend will tell you. Each player will have their own preference of units, either because of the type of play involved, or the off-field friendships, and even both. We traditionally have a core of returning players each year, and then fill in with newer members. Some stay, some decide to test the waters of other units. That's fine with us, we would prefer all players to find a unit that makes their enjoyment of the game complete. We hope you will give us a shot, and find out why we have so many players returning this year.
1) The Rangers are not known for being very vocal about where we were, what we did, and when. Most of the time, people will not know they were fighting with us, or us with them. We like it like that, and it WILL continue. It's harder to prepare defenses against us, when you don't know where or when we will show up.
2) The Rangers are involved in battles all over the field. We have no generic Area Of Operation, or assigned area to attack. That is determined by where we are needed, and when we are needed.
3) Many times, units claiming that they captured the points for a certain area, and no other units did, etc Are totally unaware that we are fighting in the same area, even amongst them. We DIRECTLY AFFECT the outcome of battles, and then WE LEAVE to go fight elsewhere. All usually before those responsible for gaining the points, even know it.
4) Our own Team Cpt, has been named to the Supreme Allied Command for this year's Game.
If any of this interests you, or you have more questions, feel free to ask away. We will help with whatever you need answered, and hopefully it will convince you to join us in taking the fight to the Germans this year. You may post them here, or just Email our site directly. email@example.com
Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of my Ranger Regiment.
Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move farther, faster and fight harder than any other soldier.
Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be. One-hundred-percent and then some.
Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.
Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.
Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor.
RANGERS LEAD THE WAY! ALL THE WAY!
