My team, Team Perception played that day and rocked the field...we took down all three flags in the beginning and held some of the ally bases all day long which led to an allied win 1550 points to the germans 1050 :) come for the revisted everyone we had a blast!
  3. In Topic: Why Paintball is Dying

Paintball isn't a dying sport i believe they just overstretched their boundaries, you look at the car companies in the united states and they were producing way to much cars to the ratio of how many they were actually selling and they had to close alot of factories etc. I believe its the same way with all the paintballers. We got this huge influx of people into the sport and a portion of every years influx of new players leaves, so what I'm trying to get at is that paintball overstretched due to its inflation of players and right now only the diehards and a few other regulars are left and you do get a new person every once in awhile but its hard to get a new person into the sport when they look at it like they got to spend 300 dollars for a decent setup and then another 50 dollars minimum to play for 1 day at a field i mean if you dont have the money your not going to spend 300 then 50 everytime you wanna play.

So what it comes down to is that right now all "new players" have left cause they have lost interest but i dont think anyone is focusing on the fact that with every generation of "new players" that leaves a portion of them stay with the sport. It's up to us to bring in new people try to bring out your cousin or nephew girlfriend friend uncle dad try to get them to play or try it out and you might get 30 people to play with you but only 3-7 might actually stick with it for real and not just a year. Advertising is not done by paintball thats for sure my local field was running radio ads through a popular rock station every single day this last summer and becuase of the rock station we got some famous bands to come out and play you know how many people came out compared to usually? not very many. Paintball is that sport that you start cause a friend does it. My friends got me into it 5 years ago just like their friends or older brothers got them into it.

So with everything said its up to us not the fields to get people back into paintball and you know what this upcoming year i already got 8 games set into stone that im going to you know how many people I got that said they would play some of those with me that have never played or only a few times...8 people i am one person inviting some friends and co-workers and i already got 8 of them excited to try it out or play this year with me. Paintball isn't dying unless you let it die.

Yeah your really going to have to give us a look at what schools do you intend on possibly going to, i mean alot of larger universities are going to be in a larger city and have lots to do besides paintball but for the most part your going to be able to find some i know if you were to go to University of Michigan or (state) your only a few hours north of Special ops and there are some fields around U of M and if you were to go an hour or two your going to run into like 4-5 fields indoor and outdoor some woodsball places Hell Survivors which has monster game and stuff like that and then there are always rogue games going on everywhere that do offer paint, air, co2, etc.
