Topics I've Started
01 May 2010 - 10:16 AMOk, so, so far, I've got a 2000 Ranger XLT 4.0L with an auto trans that is, with exception to an AT tire upgrade, completely stock.
So far in my planning, I've decided I'll be swapping the 302 out of an Explorer,
changing to a C4 Tranny,
swapping the front axel out for Dana44's, 4" Sus lift, probably skyjacker +3" Body Lift to make sure I clear the tires.
adding flowmaster super 40,
getting some Mickey Thompson 15x10 M/T Classics with Beadlockers, and 35x12.5 Dick Cepek Crushers
Swapping the seats (Currently 60/40 Bench types) for Explorer Buckets
Taking the jumps seats out to add storage
Adding Overhead Console
Adding a console from an Explorer
Changing the front fenders for fiberglass one that kick out 4" with a 3" rise, and the same with the rear fenders
then adding a Lund Hood Scoop to top it off, along with a tool box in the bed, onboard air, a second gas tank, and fabbing the front and rear bumpers, the front I plan to be a smaller version of a Trail Ready Pre-Runner with winch and the rear Bumper similar to Trail Ready rear bumpers....
I had someone tell me for all the money I'd dump into building the truck I ought to just go buy a new truck.... Why??? I own this one and I'd rather just make it the way I want it. Besides, pulling parts from wrecked vehicles cheapens it up a bit LOL
Anyhow, that's what I've got so far. Anyone have an awsome truck?? Care to share? Didn't I post this someplace else???? Oh well....

The above link happend just a couple miles from where I live. It is for this reason, I teach my family about guns. It is for this reason, I teach my family about checking the door before opening, and being aware of what's going on around you. It is for this reason, I make plans for emergencies and have a sort of 9 line taped on the fridge detailing where we live, who we are, what happened, etc. This way, it's easy for a scred half to death family member to remember what information to give, something to focus on. It's not paranoia, it's smart thinking.
Be safe people. Don't just trust any yahoo that comes up to you. Chances are, 99% of people will deal with you decently, and if in this case, you're selling something/buying something, it'll be a good deal. But, there's that 1% chance that what happened to this family will happen to you. Please be careful....
29 April 2010 - 05:41 AMAnd I am generally mechanically retarded.
This next year I'll be saving up to give my little 2000 Ford Ranger a lift, likely just 4" with possibly a small body lift if needed. I plan to put some 33 Dick Cepeks on it, micky thompson classics, and, I hope, drop a 302 in there with cold air injection.....
The new engine, I hope, will compensate for loss of power due to the lift and bigger tires. I also hope it will do well in 4 low to power through most off road issues. I'm not into serious mudbogging and am not a rock climber, I'm merely working towards a better suited hunting truck that will also look nice. Someone mentioned changng the front end to that of a Jeep Wagoneer for the solid axels. Basically, I'm wanting to build up a good truck off of the Ranger, and not buy a new truck in the process.
So, anyone able to help me walk through this, I'd appreciate it. Like I said, I don't know what's gonna be needed to make it all work right.
27 April 2010 - 06:37 PMMan, things have seemed to change around here..... Anyhow, thought I'd drop by and say hi, wondering if any of the old crowd is around still.....
What happened to all the Spec Ops markers in the store???!!!!
