I built my ghillie off of a set of SO Digi Fusion-ULs. Mine isn't sewn on though, it uses zip ties similar to the Action Ghillie.

If I have to take a long shot and it's windy, then I do one of two things:

    1. Compensate for the wind from experience. (target shooting/playing on windy days)

    2. Wait for the wind to die down. (my targets usually aren't moving too fast, if at all, they're just behind cover)

It depends on the type of sniper you are. For an ambush sniper it's massively important, but for myself, a self-styled 'Mobile Strike Sniper' (a more aggressive version of ghost flanker) it's less necessary. That's not to say I don't camo my marker, but I don't spend a ton of time on it either.

The main issue I see with that is that it's throwing away the main elements that allow a sniper to operate solo effectively. Snipers rely primarilly on accuracy and concealment. Firing a mass of paint, while effective for the first ambush, won't allow you to remain concealed afterward. It honestly sounds like a heavy gunner strapped on a ghillie and decided to run away from his team and hide in the bushes for an ambush, not a sniper-variant.

Worse, he's supposed to be my best friend, but at this point I just find myself enduring him.
