High end wristrockets can send paintball up to about 400fps from what I have gathered

Somehow I doubt that.

well they should crono theuir slingshots!

sounds like they have chrono'd their slingshots....
about paint speed from slingshots

also checked to see if there was anything to back up their claim anywhere on google... i did find this but would steel ammo fly faster than paint? or slower? (i asume a chrony is a chrono)

about slingshot speed but with steel?

i dont know about you guys but to be honest... that looks like it might be fun.... if everyone was wearing masks of course. I couldnt bear putting someone's eye out.

MAn those guys need to see tygers video on masks it's great and makes every point we are trying to make he shoots a styrofoam head wearing shop glasses and the glasses poped up almost off the head. he then shoots the same head from the same distance with a full face mask on and low and behold nothing moved and no paint on the head at all just the mask. I think he even shot at sun glasses and a couple other things too prove the point even more of what is and is NOT safe for paintball.

Props to Tyger for a great video.

EDIT:
Dropped the link to the video I hope they learn before someone gets VERY hurt thanks again Tyger

Let the stupid people thin themselves out. We don't need to spend out time helping them make their steps.

Ok, let me give you a SCARY video.

S.I. Propaganda 001

Right around 0:40, notice the big pink splat NEXT TO THIS GUYS EYE?!?!? His goggles are a mesh shield, possibly a plexi upper part. 2:49 you can see the masks better, and they look like they're just metal mesh formed to be away from the face slightly. We tried to talk sense into them a long time ago, they're convinced they're 100% safe.

But then again, the team name is "Slightly Intoxicated"...

Oh man. Those guys are ASKING to lose an eye. I don't give a damn what they say, no mesh is rated ballistically. Especially not when you alter it and strap it to your face.

Plus their whole "rap-listening white supremecist" vibe.

Just keep them far away from me.

I, personally, am all for learning a lesosn via trial and error. Pop 'em in the face once, then they'll quit being unsafe. Heck, its how i was raised. What happens if you lick a battery? Oh, I don't know. Go ahead. Try son, try.

did I die for a second there?...

No one here has played in the early 90's. That was all that was ever used.

Welcome to the forums. It would be pretty cool to play with slingshots in training because it would teach you to conserve ammo and make your shots count, but like you said yourself, everyone should wear a full mask.

Slinghots: perfectly safe.
Shop goggles: just take one of my eyeballs out & stomp on it right now, please. Now excuse me while I go play with this toaster in the bathtub...

A slingshot is your only sidearm option when your primary is a pistol... :D

slingshot play is awesome. though will suck if your the only dude with a slingshot.

theres nothing wrong with play with a slingshot, its perfectly safe (so is a blowgun but im still perfecting that. dont ask, ill make a post eventualy) but a mask IS NESSICARY. it doesnt matter if your hand chunking paintballs at each other. always wear a mask

people who dont wear masks remind me of people who ignore the warning signs on powertools that say ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GOGGLES WHILE OPERATING THIS EQUIPMENT. then wonder wtf happened when they loose an eye

has everyone forgotten the fact that when paintball first started...all we had was shop glasses??

Is it a good idea? No. The shop glasses sucked...but we also made every effort NOT to goggle-shot the players either. I doubt that even wrist-rockets are as accurate as most markers.
