There is really nothing that you can do. He paid his money, so you can't tell him to leave. There are more things that you can do to handicap him, but look at it from his perspective. He did nothing wrong. If he lit everyone up, as much as it is nice to sell the two cases of paint, you can't have people coming away with such a negative experiance. If he was shooting people in sensitive area's, then you can ask him to leave. But he wasn't.

BTW, what is an Ultra Ego? I have heard of one guy that made one last weekend, but his and this guys might have been a bit different.

I do not believe I am any where near a pro level of competion, but at my local field I have been asked to tone it down from time to time. Also on rare occassions I have been asked by the field owner to ref and coach new players.

This is one of the situations one runs into with rec play. The possibilites are almost endless here. It all boils down to how many people showed up for rec play that day and how many ref are at the field. The only thing you really can't do is tell him to leave since he is a paying customer that is playing fairly and safely.

If he is realy that good, I would have him put on a clinic twice a month, charge $20.00 a head for the clinic , he splits 50/50 with the feild you both make money he gets to play and the other players will improve.
or you could ask him to play hopper ball(he only takes one hopper of paint on to the feild). I have a player at my feild who is semi pro, he is a very aggressive front player, when he plays with newbs he is all for slowing down, i have even gotten him to play with out a barrel on his marker, he had a blast. One time his whole team showed up to play, we ran a 7 on 22 game and every one had fun. You just need to find a way to make it work, punishing the guy becouse he is good is not good business no matter how you look at it.

If teams practice at your field, go over to the team and see if they will let him play with them. Im sure the guy wont mind playing with people at his own level rather than destroying new players.
You gas up the marker, put on the gloves, strap on the mask, and walk onto the field.. it doesn't matter that you failed a test, that your girlfriend broke up with you last nite, or that you got a ticket on the way there.. your world is right for the next couple hours, this is your heaven on earth.. live it.. love it.. well done BlueDragonX, you did exactly what i asked you not to do, yes there is a moral delema with kicking him out, but what aboiut the busnes stuff? he is making ppl leave, and for the record he diden't pay the field fee he is a sponered player

Did he or didn't he pay his field fee? This makes me wonder how real this story is.

1- As has been suggested you rotate it so all players have a chance to be on his team.

2- Now that you know how good he is inform other players BEFORE he plays the next group of rec ballers and ask them how they want to play with/against him.

3- If you can't accept the fact that there are players of a higher level and feel the need to cheat to help a weaker team you need to get out of reffing.

4- Who's he sponsored by? If it's by the field and he didn't pay his fee then you need to talk to the owner about this player and when he's supposed to get his free field time. Does his entire team get free field access to practice? If he's using his free time why is he playing "noobs"?

5- If he did pay his fee then you have no choice in the matter. Try to balance the teams as best you can. If the other players have a problem with playing against a pro and want to leave frankly that's too bad for them. If the "pro" is cheating and they want to leave because of it that's a different story. Deal with the cheating.

hes probly playing with "noobs" because he wants to have a nice old fashioned rec play without the speedball portion in it.

well some fields devide noobs from really good players. I understand he intimidated people. However - from what I read he played the rules 100%. Took underdog all the time.

Hard for noobs with rentals to stick an experience player with a highender. What to do .... I don't know.

If he's paying his field fee I'd agree with that. But it's also been stated that the guy plays free because he's sponsored. In which case he should be there with his team and practicing, not tearing up walk-ons. If he is there with his team then it needs to be made clear to the walk-ons and left up to them if they want to play "pros".

Ive been "that" player before. Also sponsered by the field, so, technicly i didnt have to pay thefield fee. Since i often spent time reffing, it wasnt a big ordeal, but everyonce in awhile i would jump in with the "noobs" as it were.

For me, i always found it fun to play WITHOUT a gun. The rec players got a kick out of it, and it sure made things interesting. Granted i couldnt get anyone out, but it made my communication skills alot better, and enhanced my reflexes. The new players loved to use me as "bait" or a distraction. I found it to be just as much fun, if not more, than playing regularly. Ive also played with just grenades, and no marker, a pistol as primary, and as a "third team." All of them fun. If this guys is as humble as you say he is, be up front with him, tell him whats going on, and your dilema. More than likely he will try to help out as best as he can.

I agree, it is a lot of fun. My field has the "bunker tag" rule, so i can get people out. I also go out with my barrel and paintballs. I can barrel tag, or use the barrel like a blowgun(always fun, we play like that in the staging area with safety glasses)

but he is making other people leave

When I meet someone like that, I ask if he or she would mind if I played along side them and picked up a few tips.

The other guys could have done the same. Instead, they pouted and left.
