Combat Controller- First There :o They work with all Special Forces. But enough 'bout that.

I support the Marines, and all branches regardless of who's considered the best. (But lets face it, all branches say they're the best but the truth is that the Navy ain't. lol, j/p). I just ain't a fan of the corps.

CCT job description: "Combat controlers are there to control the airspace in combat operations, deconflict the airspace between aircraft, (that is, keep the aircraft safely apart) , direct calls for fire on targets, and provide ground-to-air communications for command and control. They are the vital linkbetween the ground and air assets to make sure things don't run into eachother and to insure hot steel gets put on target." -Tim Wilkinson- Taken from the book "The Battle of Mogadishu." Ever think of becoming a PJ CptObvious?

They are usually inserted via airplane or helicopter, and they get there first to direct in the other aircraft. Don't think that they're wimps though, they have to go through an arduous 18 month training program, and only 15% of those who try out make it. They're special forces, and they know how to fight just as well as almost any other soldier.

Actually...its 24 months. Besides planes and helicopters, they also are inserted by the sea and land if possible. Yes, I have thought about becoming a PJ, but I'm not all into the medic spiel. I saw the CCT as a chance for me to learn how to use some fancy equipment which could, in some way or another, carry over to a civilian job in telecommunications or whatnot.
