So you've never used an Apex have you?
The paintball isn't going to make a 90 degree turn as soon as it passes your bunker.
The flight path of the ball is a gradual curve.

Personally, I can't stand the way the standard Apex looks. Then comes the AK and M-16 ones. Now I'm having trouble not getting it.

My only question, can I attach rails to the M-16 shroud on the "Apex-16"?
I love my rails :(

You could always just buy a stock Apex barrel & add a Trinity Shroud , then just buy a M-16 front sight & your good to go.

It didn't bother me until one day of play a few months ago. i don't know how this guy had it dialed the way he did but this one bunker on the field as soon as someone ran to it "bam" your outta there. I was there a total of 30 seconds maybe less. He hit 6 or 7 of us that way. In the staging area all he did was brag about being able to peg people behind bunkers from 10-20 yards out. This continued throughout the day too. By the way, this happened on a speedball field but he was doing the same thing on the woods fields also. That was a very frustrating day and until you have one you probably won't understand why i hate them so much.

So he had that one bunker dialed in?
Then don't go to that bunker! Now he has to spend some time re-adjusting it, and not shooting at you.

I think what he means is that its not realistic.I mean if you took an M-4 and shot it it wouldnt curve. But i do disagree with that its cheating cause its not.If it was ppl wouldnt be able to use that barrel but they are so its a fact. You cant change laws even though its a very cheap thing(even though it kind of isnt.It takes talent to make thoughs curve shots.).But maybe i shoudnt talk cause i havent used either or barrels.

will i'm not looking at getting an apex for that reason... i want it because i'm hearing its more acurate and i like the idea of with a flick of a switch i can use it as a normal barrel...

i cant speak for the dude that started this thread... but thats my reason for wanting one... and i dont really like the way the stock apex looks eather pirate.... i've been looking around for a mod i really like...

pkj

i want to switch for the same reason as you hence this thread
only practical reason i can think of for wanting a paintball to go right or left is wind factor

First up: I'm a FLATLINE user... but I've tested side to side with an APEX.

... if the army could make an M16 shoot curves, THEY WOULD DO IT TOO. If someone has a technical advantage u need to compensate with tactics and strategy.

I won't switch to the Apex cuz my barrel works and I don't intend to spend money to replace something that works.

I also don't want to bother dialing all the time. In the heat of the moment I dont have time for that.

I enjoy flat trajectory which either one would deliver. The flat trajectory allows me to hit targets on first or 2nd shot at a decent range without even using a sight or scope. I have a red dot but rarely use it/need it. the only problem i've encountered is that the target dont even realize that they're hit with one or two shots so I end up lighting them up anyways lol.

The APEX and FLATLINE I tested were comparable in range and accuracy, BUT if you dial down the backspin on the apex (which u obviously cant do on a flatty) then it becomes more accurate at loss of range/straight trajectory obviously.

As far as paint I guess my flatty is picky and I get about 2-3 barrel breaks per 1000. But that's squeeged in 30 seconds... CLICK HERE ON HOW I take my flatty off so fast...

I think in some aspects of using a BT Apex barrel it could be considered or "lucky" kill since you decide where the curve is on the ball.

But for a price of 85-100 big $'s depending on what your marker is I highly recommend the apex over the flatline after owning each one for about a year altogether.

Flatline worked the first 6 months roughly gave me my monies worth and 100 extra ft of distance+ while maintaining break on impact.

after that it wore out and started to chop the set screw popped out and the entire barrel shot out of the shroud in the middle of a freakin firefight, TINKLEsed me off like a freaking steamin demon.

I sold it and utilize and apex and nvr went back.

 get rid of it before it screw's u over most likey as well!!!!!

I never had a good experience with the flatline barrel. I'm no tech wizard or nothing so I like the way the Apex is set up and have read and personally heard lots of good things about them. I didn't like the way the flatline handled when fired full-auto but, found that it worked reasonably well when fired in semi-auto mode.

Actually in World War two the Germans did have an assault rifle with a curved barrel. It was used to shoot around corners in urban fighting. Used mainly on the Eastern Front. The only downside was that after a few shots the barrel heated up.

So all your prejudice is based on the actions of a single egotistical idiot?!?!?! I've owned my apex for almost a year now and I've fired over 20,000 rounds through it. AT A FIELD IN GAMES AGAINST OTHER PEOPLE. AND... In all those days of play I have never even had time to think about using the curve functions. Paintball is normally too fast of a game to have time to use such things. So now we can begin brainstorming solutions to your problem.

1-If an Apex guy is dialed in on a specific bunker... DON"T RUN TO THAT BUNKER!!!!! Tell all your buddies and start flanking. As an Apex owner I personally know how long it can take to switch targets and dial in on a new bunker. I've tried this at my house and timed my self!!! It can take almost 15 seconds sometimes. So thus the solution is get up and move!!! Flank left, flank righ,t just keep moving and the guy that you hate so much because of his barrel won't have time to dail in on you and you can take him out.

2-If the guy you hate is braging and that irritates you.
a-find a new field. the owners will notice who is killing their business and tell him to stop
b-TELL THE REFS AND THEY WILL ASK HIM TO STOP!!!!!
c-leave for the day and go when he isnt there!!!

3- This thread was created because someone asked a question. AND NOTHING YOU HAVE SAID THUS FAR HAS HELPED IN ANSWERING THIS QUESTION!!!!!!!

Oh I personally prefer the Apex because of the greater possible distance and the "on", "off" capabilty.

Mods- I apologize for anything I typed that I missed in a fit of rage that needs to be deleted please tailor this post as you must.

I knew he was bashing the Apex because he got owned with one. At least he admitted it. The shot he is talking about is the dive bomb shot. If you set the Apex for MAXIMUM spin while using the dive bomb shot it really is amazing how sharp it will curve and slam down toward the ground. To do this you have to be the right distance from the bunker you're shooting at. Our field has lots of shallow dry creek beds and this comes in real handy. Calling it cheating is silly. Back when semi-auto markers were first introduced alot of people considered the people that used them cheaters too but now look at them. It's all just innovation and technology and some people can't deal with progress. Don't be mad because you didn't know what you were up against and you got owned. Next time pay attention to the people your playing against. It's like playing against someone with a Double Trouble that cuts a hole in some bushes with thier fire power and takes you out. You don't get upset because they have a double trouble, you adapt and overcome. I've used the Flatline and the Apex and there's just no comparison. The Apex rules.
