Actually I am kind of glad I didn't

Ditto. I can't even really come to an understanding of what was posted in the first post... something about how any gun can me a Longbow? No sorry sir, try again. Automags, IMHO, are the best quality markers for the price. Don't waste time on low end Spyder modding. Yes, I agree home mods are cool when they come out right. (refer to my 98 foregrip removal.. :panzer: ) but in this case, I'd have to say just start with the Mag and make it a real longbow from there.

A blackcell kit for say...a Spyder MR1 would cost almost as much as the marker itself..which isnt really pratical. Thats why Speical Ops chose the Tac One as their base marker..beacuse its a really good gun which makes it worth upgrading with an expencive body kit to use for woodsball. i know if i had a Spyder MR1 and i had $200+ just laying around..i wouldnt put it into a kit for a $100 spyder (im not knockin spyders...just using as and example) id buy a nice new gun..thats probally speical ops doesnt make kits for entry level markers-drummer

Putting all that expensive stuff on a Spyder is like polishing a turd.

hey now, i had a spyder sonix that lasted me for about 3 years with absolutely no problems, i still have it sitting around as a backup gun. now i have a spyder mr2, which is one of the awesomest guns ive ever used. personaly i think theyre great guns.

ive messed with this kinda stuff before, as have many other people, in the end its possible with pvc pipe, some springs, a knife and a little ingenuity.

My belief on the spyder debate:

All but the cheapest spyder guns are good. My experiences with the TL-R and the TL-X is that the cheap plastic feed neck breaks by the fifth game, the trigger seems to be harder to pull on the third, the balls jam in the barrel alot and I still can't find the chrono screw. Other than that I don't mind the spyders at all.

Oh, and I'm going to throw a monkey wrench into this: I LIKE BRASS EAGLE GUNS!!!! :o

As far as the mod goes...well its a neat idea, but if you've got a gun that has a feed neck coming straight down the gun (like the Spyder TL-R, not knocking it, just the first example to come to mind) it wouldn't work very well. You'd have like a three or four ball mag, because if you went any bigger, you risk the mag going out behind the gun which is dangerous to the gun and you. Plus, if you are going to make this a sniper marker you'll need some sort of sighting system (unless you know how to aim perfectly with these markers without "walking in" the shots). Because of the vertical feed neck you'll have to get some sort of offset rail for a sight, which I personally feel is awkward to use.

Thats my two cents.

Sigh, that was probally the only good part of this entire thread, so good it made my sig, thats a good 'un.

I say this more when it comes to upgrading computers, but it applies to paintball here too. Something is only as good as its worst part. Such as, no matter how much stuff you throw onto a spyder, it is still only as good as the little stock peices you couldn't replace.

brass eagle used to be good back in the day. they used to make the king cobras. they were awesome! they were one of the first semi-auto makers too. i think alot of these guns wouldnt even exist if it werent for them. besides if theres someone who has one and has fun with it who cares. thats what its all about...ive used a stingray and shot abunch of people. i really loved it when i shot the guy with the $1000+ tourny gun, he said i cheated. what a turd! :P

Serious necropost, but i'll post since it's at the top.

How much would an operation like this cost, because I have an MR2 sitting around doing nothing. I was going to turn it into an RPGesh thing for scenarios, but this sounds more fun. Can anyone explain how to do this?

Actually the poll is what brought it back to the front, not my post, I'm just tired of seeing this thread every week cause someone wanted to vote...
