APE is a very good company with a reputation for their great customer service. I ordered a Rampage board with solonoid. to go with my Pro Custom with cyclone. It arrived in 2 day, (live a state away fromthe factory)
I recieved it and installed it. i turn it on and it clicks, as normal. i pull back the cocking lever, and i pull the trigger. only clicking. Not good. i replace the battery. still no good. I call APE ant tell them about my affliction. after talking to him a while. apparently, the customer service guy (Jim) tells me that it has to be the armature pin. i tell him that i purchased the board from tippmannparts.com. I learned that i got the A5 verion of the pin. After getting that settled, I ask him about some good fields in our area. He suggests them, including Low Country Paintball (best field EVER!!). Anyways, i send the gun in to get it installed proffesionally at a modest price of about 15$. When i got it back, they left a note about replacing my trigger with this one Link because my old one was screwed up. the amazing part is that they gave me a $45 dollar trigger, the last one in thier stock for FREE! (great trigger btw, very smooth) I attach my HPA tank. and set it to full auto. Wow, that was so fun, very fast, and very reliable. Then i switched it back to semi auto. with the Pro-E trigger, i could walk it so fast, it was amazing. I fell in love with it.

Pros: you can set everything to what you want.
7 types of firing modes.
Water resistence
Turns off the moment you stop firing, and turns back on instantly the moment you pull the trigger
25 BPS
3 times the battery efficiency of the WAS or e grip
you can replace the battery without changing your settings
Customer service Customer service Customer service!

Cons: you have to resolder the board to the solonoid if you buy the board only
to be expected.

Great review & I've heard nothing but great things about APE. Now I really can't wait to get my APE board I ordered yesterday, now I just have to decide which APE trigger I wanna get for my A-5.

im deffinately getting the APE for my e grip. i have a question though, how hard are they to swap if you get the complete board w/ soleniod? is it just a simple swap, or is there more to it? im not electronically inclined much and i dont want to break $170 worth of electronics.

Just pull out the safety and trigger assembly. Remove grip screws. Remove he WAS board and components. Install APE Components. Re Assemble. Complete time 5min. Its pretty straight forward. Everything has a place and really can't be screwed up.

Picked up the Rampage board today at my local store and took it home. Installed it in less than 5 minutes. Loaded up one Q pod and went out to my firing range (a plastic trash can) and unloaded a full pod in under 5 seconds in the Turbo mode. The level of customization with this board is phenomenal to say the least. A snap to install and performance that blows any other board for the A-5 away. And on top of all that, APE is a paintball company for paintball players, they arent in it to make millions. They are in it to serve paintball players. Best purchase I have made in a long, long time.

Guys, don't forget to mod the Cyclone feed. Most of the parts in them are plastic and at 25 bps, they most likely won't survive very long. I put the JCS Rachet Pro Kit in mine along with the Tech T Lightening Rod. Both parts replaced the existing plastic ones.

Can a stock A5 grip be converted ? I know I would need a different sear, the one with a round hole rather than oval. But the big question is this. Is there a place for the board and solenoid?

If not, does anyone know if you can purchase an empty A5 Egrip on tippmannparts.com ?

great review. the rampage board rocks. Also the jcs dual trigger is awesome. it takes a little time to adjust but has great results.

Hey, it's been a while.

My gun doesn't work with the E-grip anymore. It just doesn't shoot. It clicks (with the RIGHT pin)
Haven't used it in half a year.
However, the board itSELF works great. Just that my gun itself has screwed up innards. However, i have an Ion now (oh noes! )
I am selling the board along with the sear and armature pin, so if you want it i can sell it to you. I PROMISE that it still works fine.

Hey, sorry, probably a dumb question, but does the A.P.E board work on the X-7 e-grip? I have read about it and really like the new modes that it offers and the waterproofing is also a plus. Another question: the X-7 grip isn't already waterproof is it? Thanks
