yea i hate how people dont want to put there barrel bag on, its like they want to accidentally shoot someone. I played last weekend and after a game of speedball and after it was over i said "everyone got a barrel cover on?" all i heard was "yes" so i took my mask off just to hear "POW!" a guy in front of me who was about to take his mask off got hit in the back of the head by a kid you no matter what would never put his barrel bag on after a game and you had to remind him ALOT.

Ugh. Someone had a plug on the other weekend and had an AD. PING! Plug goes flying across the room.

There seems to be a link between leaving a barrel-sock off and randomly waving said marker around while looking for it. It's like this type of person just doesn't get it. Damn. Now you've got my blood pressure up.

To anyone who puts their finger in a barrel to plug it: have you actually been shot while doing that? I suspect an AD would break your finger...

I actually shot my finger while it was in the barrel before, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...it was about a week after I got my new gun and it was electric with mouseclick trigger or whatever and i was used to mech so I saw dirt in the tip of my barrel and accidently shot my finger...it didn't hurt as much as I thought at would, perhaps I was in shock lol. It might have something to do with maximum velocity or whatever.

And as for the stupid people that refuse to put their barrel bag on, just get everyone to gang up and yell at them and do everything you can to the stupid people...I can't stand it when people do that. It's only gonna result in an accident and then more bad name will come to paintball

No, as long as it's crono'd safely you have a very small chance of breaking your finger. THe worst thats ever happened to me was my nail coming off.

Another point to bring up. In many cases your marker might require some sort of maintenance between matches.

Maintenance is not an excuse to take off your barrel condom!

At least not until you are for sure positive that you can not fire a paintball. Before you should even consider taking off your barrel condome you should un-air your marker and remove any paint from the breach. This means going on-field or the chrono area to do this; don't overlook this safety step, we've had accidents in the staging areas because someone failed to follow safety procedures while working on their marker.

On my cocker I also remove the bolt just to be sure.

Anyone else think they should make people take a gun safety class before paintball? After I did I dont point it at anything I dont want to shoot.

heh, this reminds me of something that happened a while ago at the site I go to.

This girl managed to get lost during one of the games, walking off the wrong way through the forest and came out onto a main road, with all the equipment. She then followed the road back down to the entrance, and walked blindly into the safety zone with a live gun, with the hopper in, no barrel condom on and her finger still on the trigger, where about 100 people were eating lunch.
About half a dozen marshals sprinted towards her and literally rugby tackled her to the ground before wrestling the gun off her.

Extremely dangerous and we came very close to an accident, but that was bloody hilarious to watch.

when im in the staging area i have my hands off of my gun completly by using a 3 point sling. so i have no urge to take off the condom and lift my gun up.

In the staging area when my masks off I worry about the bozos and their guns. So I just bought cool safety glasses that I'll keep around my neck and wear them in the staging area. That way if I get accidentially shot, at least I don't loose an eye. When there many people messing around with their guns in the staging area you never know what's going to happen.

I put my barrel condom on as soon as I touch the netting. I keep it off while I am walking off the field just in case someone takes up target practice on my back. That's not happened in a while though. But I know I shoot a paintball into my barrel bag alot. I won't like, we've all done it. Tht's why they are there.
Team Krisis
You gas up the marker, put on the gloves, strap on the mask, and walk onto the field.. it doesn't matter that you failed a test, that your girlfriend broke up with you last night, or that you got a ticket on the way there...your world is right for the next couple hours, this is your heaven on earth... live it... love it..

How the hell could you stop me? Why in the world would you try? I go hard forever that's just how I'm designed, that's just how I was built.
