2- Any agreements made between the seller and buyer are between them and them alone. Failure for a deal to go through is not the responsibility of Special Ops Paintball.
3- B/S/T threads MUST be placed in the proper area(PB or non PB items). Failure to place in the appropriate area will result in the add being deleted, not moved.
4- Any business based threads MUST be approved by the Special Ops Paintball STORE staff. Failure to do so will result in the thread being deleted. Failure to state what SpecOPs Store staff approved the thread will also result in deletion. NO EXCEPTIONS.
5- Ripping off members is a serious offence. If you recieve your items or payment and do not follow through on your end in a reasonable ammount of time (7 business days) your IP information and a copy of the thread can and will be given to the victim so they may file criminal charges. This will result in you being permantly banned from this site.
The reason for the change is that the original set of rules was ok when we had just a few members but we keep growing and on occasion the staff gets a PM demanding that someone get banned from the forum becasue they didn't carry through on thier end of the deal.
Step One: Research. That's right. Buying or selling requires research. Check out other forums, go to your local shops, check out Ebay and see what price the item goes for.
SELLER
Step Two: Pricing. You done the research. You found out that the Diquasi Framstamualtor you have sells used for between $10.00 and $15.00 and that those prices do not include shipping. Selling your framstamulator for $45.00 , even with shipping included probably won't sell quickly if at all. Keep the price within the market norm but with the "or best offer" qualifier. That way if you get several offers you can take the highest and maybe get more than you are asking.
Step Three: Placing the add- Word it clearly. State what it is and describe the condition it's in. Avoid "Make me an offer" even if you are willing to accept trades, be specific about what's acceptable as a trade. Make sure you have a firm "Will not let go for less than" in mind. Do not publish it because people will automatically try to buy it at that price.
Step Four: Feedback - People want to know they can trust you. You need to establish that you are a good business person to deal with. If you have sold ANYTHING on any other forum, add a link to that forum and allow people to see all of your feedback. Do not be offended if someone asks if they can contact a previous sale directly.
Step Five: Records - Keep records, both digital and paper. You will need to keep notes on private messages and instant messanger conversations regarding the transaction. Take screen shots even. Should something go wrong you will want to have the burden of proof on your side. This will include transaction details such as who sends first, weather or not a third party is involed etc.
Step Six: Address confirmation - So you've got a firm commitment from someone. Good. Got their home/mailing address? Great. Now you need to confirm it. Sending a letter without a recipients name on the envelope isn't a bad idea. Simply state in the letter who you are and why you are sending the letter. Ask if the person you are dealing with does infact reside there. Either have them phone you or send a letter back. Check with 411.com as well, they have a reverse address and phone number look up.
BUYER
Step Two: Pricing. You done the research. You found out that the Diquasi Framstamualtor you want sells used for between $10.00 and $15.00 and that those prices do not include shipping. Most sellers are willing to haggle or have a predetermined minimum price. That $17.00 Framstamulator you're looking at is a starting price.
Step Three: Reseach some more. Based on the add you've found it looks like THIS is the item you want! Now you need to research the seller. Does he have feedback anywhere else on the internet? Is he/she selling the item someplace else as well? Are you able to contact any of the previous people that bought from the seller? How smoothly did other transactions go?
