have you ever had your cyclone feed lock up on you?
i know i have, and its turned my paintball machine into a mere toy.
(lock up: when the cyclone feed seems to not have enough pressure to move itself, therefore making you use the cylinder reset rod on the side of your a-5.)
the reason for lock up is the stock rachet (schematic description 20) in the cyclone feed is made of
rubber, (wth) and it bends under the air pressure turning your a-5 into a very cool paperweight.

its the Vortex mod for the cyclone feed by Tech T!

it replaces that evil rubber rachet with a nice anodized aluminum rachet, and it replaces the plastic feeder axle with an aluminum axle,

and you never have to worry about lockup again.

ps: this is a definite must have mod

pps: while this mod is great, it is the most frustrating thing ive ever had to install, because it comes with no instructions, it took me 3 hours to get it to fit, so if you dont have time or you dont know the inside of your a-5 like the back of your hand, have your local paintball shop clerk,owner, mechanic, whatever install this mod for you

I just got mine last night, then had to go online to find the install instructions. This thing is going to be a beast to install. But if it works like they said it will, it will definitely be an upgrade.

I'm not at all mechanically inclined but I found the instructions quite easy to follow and the Vortex mod relatively easy to install. Just take your time, read the instuctions throroughly and you'll be golden

I thought about getting the Vortex mod, but after doing some research, decided it was just not worth it if I was not firing full auto.

When my original clear ratchet failed after only God knows how many balls (*at least 12,000 from me, and I bought the marker well used*), I bought another one from Tippmannparts.com for $2. Heavier plastic, simple to install, and since its superior to the original one in terms of wear and tear, I don't expect to be replacing it in the life of my marker.

Now, if I needed something capable of handling the blazing speed of the Rampage board for the Egrip or similar, I would go Vortex in a heartbeat..........but for us more....moderate....shooters, I think the stock replacement ratchet is just fine.

i just got it in today, havnt used it yet but install was a snap. 10 min tops to take the cyclone apart remove old parts, put new in, and close it all up and back on the gun. i guess its just i can tear the gun down and put i back together quickly and esilly. i tear it down and clan and oil after every day of play so im used to tearing it apart

theres always someone in a field that has the the ratchet problems .i i usually try and help them out and then i recomend that they change it .

Installing the ratchet took my father and me 30 minutes - 45 minutes, tops. You will probably need two sets of hands, but one person can do it. Just be careful and read the instructions carefully, and you'll be fine.

Edit: Sorry, this is deceiving. We had to go to Sears and get some lithium grease, otherwise it took us all of 20 minutes to take apart the Cyclone, take out old ratchet and all old not needed parts, install Vortex, put Cyclone back together and put gun back together.

Really it took me the better part of 4 min start to finish installing it. And I didn't get instructions

Even if I never shot that much, I would get it just to be able to use it at low pressures.
