If you've got the money for the hopper and HPA go with the Ion, otherwise get a Tippy.

Here's an idea: see if you can try them out and get your own experience with them. I understand you want some recommendations from others, but at some point you'll need to see what works for you. Hit a store, heft a marker, see how it feels in your hands. Do the sights work for you, does it feel balanced to hold? See if they'll let you squeeze off some rounds. You don't buy a car without a test drive, you shouldn't get a marker without one either.

I never used or seen an ion but tippmans are very good qualit and very durable, but still, you need to try both out for yourself somehow. :D
If we can't do it, it doesn't need to be done.

tippmann is so much better than smart parts company wise. however the actual marker's ion is far superior to the tippmann line. guess which ever you want. better marker or better compant

Can you explain to me how in ANY WAY a POS Tippmann is superior to an ION??? Did i fall asleep and tippmann became a high quality company or somthing?

Ion:

Electronic
Eyes
Vert Fed
Double trigger
USABLE barrel
Low pressure operation
Single tube
Inline Reg
(I could go on)

Tippmann:

Mechanical
"ACT" (if you ahve a 98, otherwise blind)
Side Feed (unless u have an A-5, then it has a huge target, oh wait they call it a cyclone)
Single Trigger
POS BARREL
High Pressure operation
HUGE gun
No reg
You are one ignorant feller.

you would`nt dunkit in water persay but if you were at a field that had a swamp or stream and the gun acccidentally fell in the tippman would fire ,a ion would just fry(duh)

A autococker trilogy tacticalpro is a good woods ball and speed ball marker.

A good player with a DOO DOO marker will pwn newbs with high ends, but give that good player a great marker, and he will do even better.

Just choose the better marker. You'll be happier with it in the long run. You don't need to go dunking it in water and smashing it off rocks, thats not paintgun performance, thats just retarted.

How is he ignorant? He stated the facts, stop the fanboyism.

Also you can play speedball with tippmanns. I do it now becuase my ion is in the shop. Its just harder to play speedball with a tippmann, because with a 98C, its really long and hard to snapshoot, and with an A5, the cyclone feed makes a huge target whenever you try to shoot outa the right side of a bunker.

you thought wrong....terribly wrong

Spyder and tippmanns are both blowbacks. The ion is electro pnuematic blow forward, meaning is more efficient, quieter, more accurate, smaller, less kick.....i could go on.
