With the Ion, you can put a CP Reg or a Palmer's Male and have it at 2+- FPS every shot...I vote Ion. It has eyes which are a major help. Every once in awhile a ball might not feed and you cand ry fire revealing your position. It is so much louder than regular firing, and it gets no one out. That way with eyes it only fires if you have paint in the breech. Plus my Ion with a JJ Edge Elite Kit with a 14'' tip is quieter than my Longbow was with an 18'' All American. Also with the Ion, you can set a cool firing mode to fire a 2 shot burst at like 20 or 25bps so it sounds like one shot.

When a level 10 hits a ball it just hisses, it dosn't crop and/or dry fire.

So you want to know why it's called an A5?

If I could assemble a new regulator for a paintball gun, I could build a liver. How hard could it be?

I'll bet you $10 the above post is telling you to buy an automag.

What if there isn't a ball in the breech for some reason and you pull the trigger? You dry fire....With the Ion, if you pulled the trigger without a ball in the breech, it won't fire.

Ion price is cheaper, plus there are more mods available for it. In the long-run the ion would be a better gun, However, you're looking for a one shot kill, there are no reasons to up your ion except for maybe a regulator. SP is a well respected brand....but it is electronic, and you take a major risk of ruining your gun. I own a blackcell ion, and My buddy owns the longbow tack-one. The Tac-one is louder,,,by far. it all depends on your bank account. If your looking for a cheaper gun then go with the ion, you'll get a betting performance if you upgrade the right stuff. However, if you are a sniper that gets his gun dirty that forget, grab the tac-one.

you might want to rethink that statment...

The ion is a lot quieter, without ups. Start upgrading it and you start getting into the sub 125 PSI range and it get's even quieter.

Just depends on what you like. some like the ion, others like mags.... personal choice.

Honestly if someone gave me a free gun I would take a Tac-One over an Ion. But if it's my money I say Ion. Thats just my opinion though.

Definately. Airgun Designs (AGD) is a well respected brand. Tom Kaye has been a real innovator in the sport since its infancy.

Smarmy Parts is known for patent law manipulation and bully tactics. It is the Walmart of the paintball industry. Cheap goods but no heart.

The Tac is a much better marker, quality-wise. That's pretty obvious. Ions are mass-produced, AGD only has a handful of employees; so of course they make better gear.

It's all really up to personal preference. I've a friend who used to use an Ion. He bought the AGD Longbow/Q-bow kit. He's had that for a while and now he's selling that and buying an Ion 'bow setup.
