I'm gonna have to vote for the tac. It's biased maybe? I hate electros. The thought of "what if my battery goes dead" just makes me gag I guess.

Sure the tac is more expensive, but it's worth it in the long run if you ask me. It's mech so it can take a pounding. A few points on both I guess :

The Ion's cheaper, can shoot faster stock, may even be lighter, no clue.

The AGD's more rugged, has a lvl 10 antichop, and doesn't rely on batteries.

Whichever you get, you'll need HPA. Liquid CO2 freezes up the internals of the Ion, frying the board; and it busts up the x valve in the AGD. Either way CO2s bad UNLESS! You run a remote (which you will, it's an air-thru stock), you get an expansion chamber, and you get a regulator. These steps allow the CO2 to expand enough to where liquid CO2 doesn't get into the marker. Honestly, for all of that money it'd take for a good exp chamber and reg, just buy the HPA tank. It's naturally more stable, isn't touchy with temperature like CO2, and won't fry your gun by accident.

^I think I'll just leave it that way. It suits me.

The Ion is faster firing and has more firing modes, can be "walked".

The Tac One is more rugged, more simple, and has a more consistient valve.

Other than that both are fairly easy to maintain, are quiet, are light and are small.

The Ion is going to be a higher profile as it does not have a side feed body option, unlike the Tac One. The difference is slight.

I own a Tac One, and will own an Ion next month, so I say buy both! Hehe. If you are going tank on and Q Loader then both markers will be heavy, but you are also a very tight package.

Overall that is one of the better Tac Ones I have ever seen, and I think an Ion will offer you a similar experience. An Ion will give you that walkable trigger and faster firing tho, at the price of ruggedness and simplicity. I guess thats what it comes down to.

Ill obviously have more to contribute next month :)

I'd go with an Ion. The Ion is quieter than the Tac One and just as accurate.

Im not a real fan of automags, I've been around about three dozen of them from old to new, and I can only
think of maby four that would work all day without going down for repair, on the other hand i've been around
about the same number of ion's and have seen maby six that would'nt last the day. just my experance.
good luck with what ever you get.

So totally Blackcell Ion.
Sigs aren't actually allowed on the Special Ops Forum, so I don't have one.

TAC-ONE FTW! Why? Better customer support, better reliability, and best of all, it's a mech that fires just as well as if not better than an Electro. With electros, there's constant maintenance, fried boards, batteries... etc. Mechs= more reliable when it comes to needing it inn the middle of hardcore Oklahoma D-day action.

does the marker itself in any way effect the accuracy?
same barrel
same paintball
same stock
same everything except for the ion or ADG
which is better in that sense?

also, if i can get an ion for $150, is a tac one THAT much better than the ion that i sould pass up a deal like that?

NECRO'd

But yes the Tac-One is a better marker and no not all markers and barrels and paint shoot exactly the same.

Please no one just post which one is bettere unless you give reasons. For all we know you're just going off of what you've heard, and most of you probably are.

The Tac-one will be more cosistant. That is, you are going to know exactly where that ball is going it go, because it's going to prettymuch be at the exact same speed as the shot before it. Quality control, customer service, and machining tolorances are all better with AGD markers, making for a better product.

A used automag shouldn't be that expensive. You could get another type of mag too, and as long as it has the a Retrovalve/E-mag valve/X-valve and a level 10 bolt it will funtion the same as a Tac one. Check Automags.org for deals.
"A bad day of paintball is one where I never get hit. If I don't look like I got date-raped by an octopus by the end of the day, thats a bad thing."

So you want to know why it's called an A5?

If I could assemble a new regulator for a paintball gun, I could build a liver. How hard could it be?

Automaggot #79

I'll bet you $10 the above post is telling you to buy an automag.
