Agglets need to fall off the face of the sport, though I still haven't figured MILSIM out. Buy a gun, put a hundred dollars in making it look cool, and use sights that are essentially useless for the range. All my MILSIM friends aren't worried about winning so much as they are their marker looking like an airsoft gun. Spray and pray ftw.

F=ma

Force = Mass X Acceleration

So let's put this equation to paintball. The mass of the projectile is, for the most part, fixed. Everywhere I play we use field paint only, so my "mass" is roughly the same as everyone else's. Again, the speed SHOULD be the same, the hangtime of a ball is the factor that can be changed. Flatline / hopup barrels can give the ball more hangtime, and therefore adjust the formula by upping the time aloft. But other than that, all guns shoot the same because physics will demand it.

More range, how do you gets it? Simple, really. You tweak the numbers. A ball with more mass, even a few grams, will go noticeably further. It's why I miss the original "midnight" from Diablo, that stuff soared. The down side is that it takes more energy to get the mass to speed, so you get less shots from an air fill. You can also give the ball more time aloft, arcing or backspinning the ball. Speed is fixed at 300 FPS, so that part of the formula is off limits.

So, simply put, my Tac-1 Mag and A-5A2 shoots JUST as far as that scrub's "e-gun-of-the-month" they're shooting if we're all using field paint. And if he's outranging me then either my velocity is down, or theirs is up.

Times like this, I miss California Magnum. That stuff flew REALLY far, but up close it left entry wounds.

There are three ways to get more range out of a standard marker.

1) backspin on the paintball, imparted by an Apex, flatline, or a piece of tape or dab of fingernail polish at the end of the barrel.

2)Heavier paintballs. This is possible, though unlikely on a FPO field. Even a few grams, as pointed out, will make a noticeable difference

3) jacking your FPS, which is risky, at best, as well as making you cheating scum.

that's IT. "porting" will not help, and the sim-4 is, at BEST a spyder knock-off that, last I checked, has neither magical creatures or materials and propellants that defy the laws of physics as we know them anywhere in it's construction or operation. IF it's shooting farther, it's one of the three things I mentioned above, or you trolling. that's it. NO ONE is possibly so stupid as to claim the LAWS OF PHYSICS don't apply to them. to Imply that E does NOT equal MC2 though, seems to point to you just being stupid.
