It's an online FPS (First Person Shooter). It's like any other one, except huge maps and vehicles from jeeps to tanks to planes. You can parachute out of planes etc...It's a great game. Battlefield 2 is the newere one though.

Go out and buy bf 1942 for like $10 in a clear-out bin. Try it out. If you like if you can also buy the BF 1942 complete collection which includes two expansions, bf42, bf: vietnam, and map editors and a mod making thing for each game.

You could also download the demo too. Go to www.gamespy.com I think and register then go to "demos" and search the categories till you find it.

and for 1942 there is secret weapons expansion pack that have all of the secret weapons that where in testing phase or in low production numbers I,E for the Germans the Sturm tiger basically a tiger with a 360 mm naval gun or the American T95 its a good buy if you want to prolong the fun of bf42

th newer stuff is IMO more fun. I love BF2SF and BF2142 but it's in general a great franchise.
